he's a little beauty,it's a pity he's gone the year.
Very bad luck for Thursfield. The good news is that he looks a player and could potentially play CHB for us for the next ten years.
Get him on the roids over the next six months and bring him back better than ever in 07.

shocking luck for thursty, looks to be a real find with a great turn of pace and reflex, has the rare ability to hold gun forwards...no doubt riewoldt found space when Bowden went to him....
poor schulzy, he hasnt looked like it this year...hope he does some serious soul searching during his convelesence:thumbsu:
Thursfield is an absolute f..king tragedy .
There are bad knee injuries and there are bad knee injuries .... this one looked really bad .... i don`t reckon there will be anything left intact in there .
Boy we have some schitty luck

Love the way this kid goes about it.
Unfortunately has done the mother of all knee injuries. Could be the trifecta.......ACL, ML, PL.

That is what the Doc has said.
He was holding Reiwoldt as he did Goodes (or was it O'Laughlan?) last year. Took him out of the game basically, but was rebounding the ball. When Roo finally did get a kick Thursty made him earn it with a first to the face on half time. Total, total blow for us as well as Schulz and possibly Newman and Hartigan. Humm to be promoted atleast he gets a chance, but its pretty cruel what has happened tonight.

Interesting point. Are players in rehab tested?
Comes with risks of course... Steroids pack on teh weight very, very fast and also make the mind slower in its thinking/reaction times.

We've lost 2 KPP for extended periods of time already :(
Why hasn't Schulz been played down back  Now he has done his collarbone we have to wait another year to find out if he is the CHB of our future...

Even though it cost us a goal just on half-time, I loved Will Thursfield's hit on Reiwoldt in the contest.
I reckon there's a lot of mongrel in the kid(1970s-style), and we will miss him.... but its an opportunity for someone else to step up and take one week at a time and be cherry ripe for next week!

Some good news on the injury front is that www.richmondfc.com.au said Schulz only looks to be 3-4 weeks. Ofcourse this is not confirmed, but the report didnt seem to be treating the injury as too serious.

How #@*king unlucky is our club, lose two guys in the same night that are the future of our backline. Great game by Thursfield was on top all night apart from a few easy chest marks Reiwoldt scored as usual.
1. Why was the game not stopped when Shulz was injured! Cost us a goal.
2. Why was the ball balled up whilst we were in posession when Thursfield went down, as I understand it the umps must wait until a team controls the ball e.g a mark, before the game is stopped unless the play is close to the injured player.Comments!

I wondered that as well. Richmond were in clear posession of the ball when play was stopped, and it was restarted with a bounce. We won possesion from the bounce, but thats pretty thick umpiring.

Probably a case of one umpire noticing and stopping play. The controlling umpire continuing play until that first ump brings it to his attention. Therefore the bit where we had the ball was actually 'dead' play.
Small consolation but at least with Thursfield getting hurt in round 2 he gets the full 12 months to recover. He will actually be able to join in preseason training and give himself a good chance for 2007.
The bad bit is that he misses this year, and in all probability will be restricted next year (most knee victims tend to have an ordinary 12 months after they are back) ... possibly the two most important years of his development :thumbsd:

I really am shattered about Thursty.
Deadset killing Roo and looked a million bucks. Those types of knees really take some comming back from.
Spewing about for the kid, 19, came off the rookie list and looked like a top 10pick gold.
Shattered for the club & myself. (& I feel selfish for this). Only played 6 and a bit games but really look part of the long term future KPP for a club that really needs those types.
Just a terribile situation.

are we unlucky or are we unlucky? FFS, at last we have a youngster that pretty much, dont know about others, but I go along, looking forward to watching, and then a knee.
Most certainly cost us the 4 points, since the cry baby was looking out for the next, expertly disguised, alomost balmyesque, punching of the ball, collecting the side of the head, spoil. ;)

Really disappointed, I had Schulz and Thursfield earmarked for big seasons. Is there any end to the misery of being a Tiger supporter?
