No point trying to find next weeks ins n outs. Last night was much more like it so lets enjoy that a lil. They played bloody well and I'm proud of everyone of em. 3 little things change and we win or at least draw. 2 last qtr saints marks were probably out on the full (both ended in goals), Thirsty doesnt get injured and we kick straight.

The endevour was my highlight. It is hard to think of an instance where we didnt chase or scrag or have some kinda go. We seemed to end with more run but sadly less skill underpressure, but that will come. Tivendale and Hyde...yes that how we want you to play and as for Tucky and Rainsey...stoked!

... BUT ... as Weaver pointed out on another thread, it just makes last weeks effort even more of an indictment .

I am fed up with this "backs to the wall" mentality that seems as every year ticks by , is the only way to get the boys to extract the digits and have a dip .

Why does it take a flogging to get them to have a go the following week ?

All i want to see is a fair dinkum effort for 22 rounds a year ... and eventaully the results will take care of themselves . Forget about draft picks , trades , beeps tests , laps around the tan , coaches ... all of that schit ... if we could just get them to give maximum effort every round of the year then we would be more than half way there for mine ..... and you know what else .... our inherent carp "loser" culture would soon wash away , and "THAT" is our greatest enemy

Year in , year out we see it and it makes me want to smash things .

I would love to see a stat over the last ten years or so to see how many games we have lost when we go in as favourite . I reckon it would tell a real story

you're right their idy, I meant to make mention of that when someone mentioned we never win games like the saints clash...history tells us they're the ones we generally do win ...losing the majority of games when we are rarely expected to win.

I think in 2005 that we made great strides in being competitive only losing a couple of games we perhaps should have won..(Blues/Roos)....R1 looked to be a huge backward step....lets hope it was an abberation and R2 was the real deal as results will take care of themselves if we play with that kind of tenacity...just need to polish some rough edges and a little lady luck go our way:)

i will leave Rainsey and Tucky out of this, but yeah Tiv and Hydey that is how we want you to play. Harvey, Hayes, DalSanto, Thompson, combined for 20 clearances and 86 disposals, keep up the good work boys. Next stop, Cousins, Kerr, Judd, Fletcher. ;)
