Just a quick thread for a round up on the guys that played WAFL on the weekend.
Graham Polak sent a clear message to selectors. Kikcing 4 goals 3 and having nine marks in the first half.
James Walker working hard across the centre, finishing with 25 touches. (1st Best)
Daniel Haines was prominent for Peel aswell. (2nd Best)
Paul Duffield continued his impressive form, gathering 31 possessions
Toby Stribling kicked 2 goals and was pretty imrpessive apparently.
Best for Perth was Dockers' hard man Troy Cook, with 29 touches and 10 tackles.
Marcus Drum impressive on debut, 4th best for Perth.
Scott Thornton, in his first league game this year, was solid with 13 possessions and six marks.
Jarrad Schofield 1 goal, nothing else on him?
Jack Juniper was solid in defence.
Just for interests sake-
Michael Gardiner reported for striking.
Daniel Bandy 4th best for Claremont.
Andrew Siegert 35 poss.
Luke Toia playing reserves still.
Great efforts there.
and hats off to Polak. You might even say he was dominating.:D
I reckon we could do with polak back in defence with his sure marking, it would strengthen and stablise our backline.

Agree whole heartedly. Actually i would like to see pav go to CHB if Polly is capable of holding down CHF. Pav has had a slow start to the season, give him one week down back to find his feet.

Ryley Dunn- is he injured again?? This was the year he was going to seriously push for a place in the 22.

According to the guys on League teams was two weeks away.

True, but if he's still a loose cannon off the field, you can't play him for the good of the club.
Did anyone actually see the EP v EF game?
I am struggling to get an acurate guide on Polak's game and would like you're help.
The Sunday Times wrote the headlines "Polak in stunning form", but then could only name him as sixth best for EF? Footygoss didn't name him in their best for EF?
He kicked 4 goals in a game that his team won by 80 points, and he kicked all of those goals in one quarter! He missed 3 easy shots in the first quarter, but what did he do for the rest of the game?
And is Webster getting a kick? Hasn't featured in EP's best as yet this season.
I suppose we'll know exactly how good (or bad) Polak's game was on Thursday night at selection time.

What... like the Eagles do with Cousins?
What... like the Eagles do with Cousins?
a) Polak is no Cousins
b) The Eagles are winning games, we're still crap
c) We're the ones with a mental deficiency on field. If CC really is trying to be tougher on the playing group, it doesn't exactly send a message of consistency if a bloke who gets wasted every weekend is getting a game ahead of other players that show some discipline. Especially when it's clear that Polak isn't living up to anywhere near his potential.

If anyone is in the Freo area on Easter Monday - Souths are playing Perth at Freo Oval. Apart from the visitors copping a shellacking from the reigning premiers, it might be worth a look to see young Drummy in action for the Demons. Cookie may well line up for Perth again, and there will, of course, be the Duffman, Scotty-too-Hotty and Murphy in for Souths. Rookie JJJuniper should line up for Perth also.

18 possesions , 12 marks 4 goals 3.
Reasonable days work.
Murphy had 25 possesions and 8 marks.
I cannot remember a time when we have had so many (any?) players cutting up in the WAFL.
We have waited a long time for this.

Just from an Adelaide based perspective, so reports on a likely Port team.
According to 10 and 7 news Warren Tredrea is unlikely to play again this week. Dean Brogan under a cloud still had his arm in a sling yesterday unlikely to play. Steven Salopek under a cloud with a groin, but will probably be avaliable. Wanganeen and Chaplin likely to miss again.

that makes it interesting in that we should kill them i nthe ruck question is if our midfield gets the ball like we did in the first half against port we will do well with a large number of their attack being injured or under clouds.
we need to get a nice tall forward line and get the midgets to run awol

Did Copping play? Interested to see he goes. Has talent but always seems lethargic

Think he's playing seconds for east perth. Isn't named in the league team for this week. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him off the list and heading home at the end of this year.

JJ Juniper appears to have moved ahead of him for the moment.

Apart from the visitors copping a shellacking from the reigning premiers...
I would take offence to that comment except for the fact that I agree with you :p . Freo supporters would be very pleased with the progress of Drummie. He has been played in the backline so far and is very strong and quick providing great drive out of defence. Also worth watching will be Jack Juniper. He has gone from being barely worthy of playing Perth reserves last year, to being a rock in defence. He regularly picks up the best tall forward of the side (such as Polak a couple of weeks ago when he only kicked 1). He will probably take Murphy or Gilmore if they are played forward, so it will be another good test to see how he performs on AFL standard players.
I also hope to see Cookie iron out a few seaguls, and leap back into the Freo side

He was drafted as a defender, but played one game in the pre-season up forward - HFF IIRC - and kicked 3 goals.... so dunno.

Although the muchers choked pretty apallingly, from what I saw of Warnock today with a bit of weight and gametime he could be something special.
