View Full Version : Medders
Does anyone think that Medders has anything to answer for that great hit on houlihan. Great to see him do that a couple of times.
He should be fine - but who knows these days?
Played well too. Was given much more time on the ground this week.

Level 3 rough play, can accept one week according to 3AW.

What a load of ********, how inconsistent are these people? Should challenge it and get off.
Aswell did anyone see Whelan, his hit was twice as bad as Grovers. Antoni gets a week, Whelan gets off.
Fu*k the AFL.

You mean clearasil ?
If they want to give him a week then cop the week.
And then at our next home game send GHD out to do exactly the same thing again.
The APL (Australian Pussies League) has done it again. Taken a soft target. Medders did what we all go to the footy to see, fair hard footy. Elbow was in, opponent was in possession and he didn't leave the ground, what more do these pratts want? I stated on another thread, if Medders gets done that's it for me and the APL, no more, I am off back to the WAFL to support grass rootes football rather than see these overpaid pias pratts ruin "OUR" game by filling it with soft mamby pamby crap. If Freo lay down and cop this they are as soft and complisate as the APL. If they haven't bothered to look around there is another code in town that provides a man v/s man contest and they could be giving RU a free ride. The Vic's are stuffing our game, it's time to protest, screem from the rafters, tell them what you think. I am going to by voting with my wallett.

Take the week and save any further hassle by copping it on the chin.
If that was rated as a 2 week hit, boy oh boy, the game review panel will hit hard early in the season but what will a player get later in the season who really takes a player out?. The panel is inconsistent, we will see some interesting offences later on in the season.

I think he will appeal and should get off. His elbow was down and the ball was fairly close.
In regards to the charge, don't they just offer the guilty plea on every incident recorded to reduce paperwork. That is not say they immediately think he's guilty.

Agree with what you say here but Medhurst made contact to the head and this is why he is in trouble. The laws cleary state you cannot make head high contact.

Exactly right, guilty 1 week. Hope they appeal and lose and he cops 2 weeks.

Is there a reason for you to be on our board ******** knuckle? Seems as though you are to gutless to state which team you follow in your profile aswell.

To make intelligent, informed and thought provoking comment which it seems is something you are incapable of.

No. You were responding as a moron. The hit was fair in every sense, the fact that Hooligan was slipping over resulted in the high contact.A free kick was quite correctly paid and that should be the end of it. It would be negligent in the extreme if the club did not appeal this one

We aren't actually appealing it. We are contesting the MRP's findings. If the tribunal agrees with the MRP, then we can appeal the tribunal.
I hope that Andrew McKay wasn't a big part of the MRP's decision, and that Michael Sexton isn't a part of the tribunal jury. Sexton was a teammate of Houlihans in 2000, McKay from 2000-2003. Conflict of interest, anyone?

Well it looked ugly but thats what happens when you fall forward when a bump is incoming. Might teach Hooligan to keep his feet :p .
