View Full Version : What was that Warne was saying about Murali's 'cheap' wickets against Bangladesh?

He looks a bit silly now, doesn't he?

Knowing Warne he'll probably do what he always does today and clean up the tail to make his figures look more respectable than they really are.

But that doesn't change the fact he's been fed a healthy dose of alphabet soup by the Bangladeshi batsman. And I'm sure Murali's sitting back having a nice laugh. :D

And Stuart MacGill 3/80 off 20 overs, isn't any good either. Again his wicket balls were basically garbage 'hit me for 4' deliveries.

He's still the luckiest bowler on the planet.

And Brett Lee fans? hello? anybody?
(your call could not be connected.........)

Well done to Jason Gillespie though. Clearly the stand-out bowler of the first day and looks to have continued his 05/06 first class form into this series.

Great stuff!

And the Australian selectors haven't paid appropriate respect to the Bangladesh batsman and haven't researched them enough.

When they get bowled out for low scores it's one thing that always does and always has got them MOVEMENT. Irfan Pathan can rip through the Bangladesh top order with his eyes closed, and THAT'S A FACT. Movement troubles all batsman I know, but the Bangladesh top order struggle against it more than anybody. The oppurtunity is always there with the new ball to knock 3 or 4 over because the ball will MOVE.

Nathan Bracken should be playing. (not that I rate him)

Should be an interesting second days play. :)

England can rip through the Bangers, but we already know we have the best pace attack in the world :)

Dont think he used the word cheap did he?I thought he just stated the fact that Murali has got alot of wickets against them and Warne has never played against them.

Looks like Jason Gillespie is the only one trying and we all know why :)

We've played a lot of cricket without a break, why try against the Desh?

Yes, that excuse'll do, why not...

Yeah, now MacGills getting the cheap wickets. Not Warne. Warne delivers against quality, not quantity.

Murali's cheap wickets against Bangladesh, aren't looking so cheap now, are they?

And Sth Africa are about to line up against NZ after:

Touring India for ODI's
Coming to Aus for 3 Tests
Playing ODI Tournament straight after
Flying back to SA and playing another ODI tournament
Immediately after playing 3 Test Series

And now about line up against NZ.

Don't use the "we've played alot of cricket" as an excuse for getting outplayed by Bangladesh.

Underating Bangalasesh, that's what has happened, just ridiculous, and those excuses won't do, if we are number one, we should not get complacent and we should be beating every side around. That being said, we will probably still win, but we are going to have to play some good cricket.

Come on GILLY!

Don't fool yoursleves, as well as they have batted, if we played them 100 times, at least 75 times we'd knock them over for under 250, and if the match was played in Sri Lanka, Warne and MacGill would clean up.

Warnie has to take wickets in at least one of these innings against them otherwise his claims regarding Murali will look silly.

Bugger. I was going to use that but you won't let me.

What are you saying? That Bangladesh have been foxing for the last couple of years by losing everything within their power, and pulled a swifty on us?

No, maybe teams around the globe have realised that Bangladesh are a cricketing super power in waiting and that all teams have peaked when they play them to stop their inevitable dominance, but we forgot.

Or maybe Whatmore has discovered the holy grail formula of cricket coaching and transformed his team into world beaters. Or maybe all Australian cricketers miraculously forgot how to play cricket at exactly the same time.

Yes, you're right. At the moment it seems like F/D is writing the script and the players are following it. But it is a Test match and the next three days will tell if Bangladesh are the real deal and that if the Aussie players are playing for real.

Pity there is.

Just need the right bowlers to exploit it.

Lee, Clark aren't the right bowlers. Symonds would've been more dangerous and extracted more than those two on this wicket.

Not necessarily. Despite their strong showing this test, there is no doubt that in recent times their performances have been atrocious, and it was during this time the Murali bowled to them.

Ohh god, i havent heard this one yet.

you do realise that Sri-Lanka had a 4-Match (2-Game series home and away) series against the Bangas, in which they won both comfortably 2-0 and 2-0 like last month and the month before? :D The excuses get better and better.

Warne>>>>Murali

Spinners getting wickets on the sub continent is no mean feat, which is where Murali plays mainly, and gets a majority of his wickets (480 to be precise).

And besides all that Murali chucks. Warne is the greatest spinner the game has ever had.

Everyone, don't forget that Murali only has Vaas to share the wickets with.

Warne currently has the other four bowlers in this Test to share them with, plus McGrath when he is playing. Not to mention Bracken and Kasprowicz when they play, all share the wickets with him.

Warne - 3
Lee - 1
Clark - 1

That's who has taken the wickets in this Test.

So do we conclude that Clark, Lee and Warne are crap since they couldn't get wickets against the Deshis, or that MacGill and Gillespie are crap because they only got wickets against the Deshis?

You can conclude that Lee is obviously feeling very safe in the Aussie side, Warne was injured and Clark is ********ing hopeless outside of a GABBA Greentop where as Dizzy and MacGill had something to prove
