for the life of me i do not understand why CC always runs a loose man in defence. It allows Pav to be double teamed - no wonder he has had enough. first half saturday we attacked, second half CC put numbers behind the ball. The players come through the middle see there is no where to go and have to head sideways. CC creates the mess through the middle and has for 2 years and 2 rounds. Love the club hate the coach.

Opposition teams don't think 1 loose man in defense is enough, they have been playing with 3 against us 2 rounds straight! Carlton played much of the 3rd quarter with no wings at all!

I don't get it either. Fair enough if it was restricting the oppositions forwards, but the 2 full forwards from rounds 1 and 2 have combined for14 goals!

of course the opposition will want to run loose men in our forward line. it is our strength but that advantage gets taken away by weight of numbers. CC should man them up in our forward line not run them loose in our back line. If they put 2 on Pav, we should send another man to play 10 metres away from pav. if they send another so do we. Make a contest, we have the forward aerial advantage.

If a change is made before round 5 i believe we would still have a chance with the team we have of making the 8 under the right leadership

the only change that could be made this season is with Harvey, and like a few others,Im not convinced he would do a better job
One thing he has certainly brought is physicality, i havnt seen Medhurst hit anyone in his 5 seasons so far and all I can say is please do it some more

True that. If they had played that way the whole game (eg hawforn) we might of been in a bit of strife.
Under these circumstances is where I would prefer to see them shepherding to protect the ball carrier rather than going sideways/backwards with handballs. Then again, I like to see our guys hitting people too.

All these points are indicative of one thing: CC is a stubborn fool.
For the last 2 seasons it has been our inability to 'adapt' our tactics to change the game (especially when its going against us, witness last years Rd.22 game at Port)
I believe that it is CC stubbornness on game day with the game plan. The Plan A is there, Plan B and C are given little thought because they reckon Plan A is so good! Well guess what CC there are other more experienced coaches than you and your staff.
We cant judge how good Harvey would be as a coach but we can judge how good CC is!

Do not agree with any of the above. Just CC "bashing" for no reason. We won the game and have the four points. What more do you want?
CC is a far better coach than Harvey will ever be - by a country mile. CC is proven and Harvey has done nothing except hang on to someone elses coat tails.

the issue is whether CC has lost the players

Excuse me what has CC proven? How to make the 8 once in four years? I'm not pumping up Harvey but how can you say that CC is a better coach than Harvey will ever be until Harvey has 4 years as a Head coach?
Your right about one thing I'm CC bashing, I dont see the change in our players from year to year, I dont see the belief in the system and I dont see anything brilliant on game day. He relies too heavily on player talent and not enough on making shrewd tactical decisions to outwit the opposition.
Hey, look around the board, if the fans are starting to lose patience how do you think the players feel?

I can't see the postive in using midgets in Schammer and bell as loose men yes they can run the ball but they can't kick long with precision to break the lines. If there is to be a sweeper it should be Blacky. If he runs his 15m and sinks the boot its about 40m out from our goal.

Look at where Freo was before CC arrived. We now have a great squad with depth. The club membership is at an all time high and the club is financially sound for the first time ever.
Look at his win/loss ratio and it compares with the best. We are inline for a top four finish this year and a good finals run.
Reliable sources confirmed that the so called players issue was a media scam and does not really exist.
Like everyone he occassionally has an off day but there have been some brilliant game days. He provides great leadership on and off the field. The club had a great run in the pre-season comp and unlucky not to win it. We thrashed the lot up the road and will do it again, so what can be better.

I would have thought that a club showing that sort of lack of loyalty (and leadership) to anyone would struggle to get its players playing well enough to make the finals. Historically teams who change coaches mid season don't make the finals.

Mathew Carr was the loose man in defence last week. Black was a late inclusion, and it was probably already planned for Carr to play that role. He has been criticised, but I thought he was okay.
