Agree. Have terrible record of late round injuries too.
Yeah - Seems that more than one person thinks there might a chance Lalor can pull it off. I will be tuned into the action at Shelley st instead.
You should be fine at the Nest mate, put em away early and rest up...
I am very confident that we can really give them a run tomorrow J&B... we just have to play hard attacking footy, be first in for the footy and we should be sweet. We have to make the most of our opportunitys.

Ok snag breath, well loking at your posts lately they aren't all that flash, all I see is you having a go at a 15 year old, gee dosn't that make you look good. As I said in my last post just have a look at the next article on monty might even be this week who knows.
Hey Reporter, looking at your B.F Profile it says your Birth year was in 1988, making you an 18 year old. I understand all about "journalistic priviledge" but it looks like you have been caught flat out Lying again.
The sad thing is, you are probably a "30" something who has just lowered his age on the website to try and catch yourself some young prey!

i had the opportunity to see the 1st half of the Bundy vs Heid game today. Was a pretty good encounter, Bund were playing some great footy. The crowd was awesome, and it was really tough DVFL style footy. I misse the incident in which a fella got hurt and i believe ( i was at the other end, correct me if im wrong, Whitnall was reported ) and had to be ambulanced out. What happened? is he ok?
I left during that break to check out some D4 ammos!!! but heard that Bundy won.

What about what saucey (shane whitnal) did to moltby half his size the poor little prick was out for 6 mins. That is an even bigger goose never goes anyone his own size always going little blokes. Soon as some one his own size has a crack the c u n t pi sse s pants must be spewing cause he has red pubes. Another goose i have know time for. I remember the time he got smashed at the caddy by an ex north current rezza player.

Have to agree with Daniel Howse being the toughest bloke in the valley. Makes his ball the object everytime but god help any man that gets in between him and it! Proven over many years how tough he is by never shirking an issue when he's not in the box seat. Sort of player that makes blokes in his side walk a bit taller knowing he's right there with them.:thumbsu:

I'll have to agree with you about the bundoora supporters they are certainly a bit of an eye sore.
About the footy Bundoora deserved their win and now assume premiership favouritism. Their recent record in grand finals would suggest that they are about due to win one.

Very confident in his ability against there biggest threat macleod.

It has got me fuc%ed why they all think they are so much better than everyone else. You have only had a decent side for three years before that you were a mid ranged side.Don't worry about the other supporters ,just worry about winning. Cop saturdays loss you simply just were 'nt good enough and thats it. You blokes are the out of form side at the minute but there is time to tern it around . I know it must be hard with all the added pressures down there [ mckernan and the eastern move ] but for the next four weeks just focus on the reason why you trained last pre season for this years flag. PS Mr baldy be very careful with the names you use there is a bloke from heidelberg initials A V who would nt be to happy with that comment

Well done chops couldn't of put it better myself.
news from parkside is that had a very serious meeting, whether the club can go on in season 2007. the decision was is that they are going to push to continue while apparently $20000 in debt. although not a very well balanced club it would be disapointing to see them fold. they cannot attract players as have no money to pay them and the ground and facilities arent too flash. it doesnt help when you have keon park as your juniors.
a good start for parkside this year was to see them field a under 9s team which is in the YJFL, and they wil be having a under 10s team next year along with a under 9s team.

Congratulations to Thomastown and Reservoir for advancing yesterday. Reservoir were too good for us on the day. We looked ready to run over the top of them a couple of times but their finals experience proved too much. Certainly hurts losing finals and it's just starting to sink in that there will be no next week. Hopefully the experience will hold us in good stead for the future. We have to take heart from the fact that we have a young side who will certainly improve, but we need to put in a lot of hard work over the off season to get bigger, better and stronger. All the best to those sides still in action in the next few weeks. I really envy the opportunity you have!!!

Yeah Congrats to all those who are still alive in the hunt for a premiership.
Very interesting weekend to say the least... We were basically smashed in the second half on Saturday. My very good mate Shaun "Mouse" Ryan showed why I rate him as the best player in the competition, annihilating us with a 7 goal last quarter. He is just a class above, and I hope that he can go a year without injury and waltz a Smith medal in... I was confident at half time that we were matching it with them, as we had a very good second term. Then we just ran out of legs, and to the Doggies credit they just capitalized on their opportunitys and exposed our weaknesses.
Congratulations to Deano and the Thommo boys for again progressing one step further than anyone thought they could 20 weeks ago... Fantastic effort mate.
A mate of mine who used to play at Lalor was down watching Bundoora V Heidelberg and said it was one of the biggest crowds he has seen at a home and away game in 15 years. Anyone confirm?
Got some very interesting info on players that are making moves in the off season. Most of this I will reveal in bits and pieces, after the completion of finals. Some hummers in there i can tell you that...

GYTM - having played both teams in the last two weeks - what are your thoughts about this Satuday at Eltham?
Yeah J&B, I think what will get Mont over the line is the numerous options they have to go forward if things arent going their way... Ottens, Yeo, Cutho can all play multiple roles around the ground. Puffer seemed to be their focal point all day, and the big fella was just too strong. Blokes like King, Edwards, Ryan, McClintok and Dean are the ones that will hurt you on that ground if given to much room so you have to try and cramp them by getting 3 and 4 over to contests and negating their run. Both sides love to run with the footy, its just who gets it and where that will be important in this game. Mont arent really renowned for being physical so North will try them out early. I feel this will be the game where Sauls loss may hurt the Doggies more than ever.
You have to play corridor footy at Eltham, and the side that does this the most will win. North stick to their game plan for 120 minutes and had plenty left in the tank on Saturday. In saying that I think Mont are probably a 5 goal better side, but on the day anything can happen. It will be alot closer than people think.
Bad luck to Lower over the weekend. Just wondering how this will effect your Reserves for the coming weeks. Will they get players back from the firsts or maybe lose players who have played too many in the ones during the year?

Will get a couple of blokes back to the 2`s, will also mean a couple might not qualify but on balance will be stronger.

Sorry to dissappoint you mate but was at ParksideS AGM yesterday & the club is in the best financial position its been in for 10 years. So stop spreading s h i t. With Peter Dean( Parkside's own ) taking the reins for next year there's a great feeling at the club Parkside will fold after their AGM
Another massive day at Bundoora.
Huge crowd, probably a bit bigger then the firs time round at Heidelberg becuase a lot Divi 2 clubs dropped in for a look. But these two games this year have drawn the biggest crowds I have ever seen at a DVFL game.
Bunnies were very good. Vinny D has improved immensely as a coach. Came out on Saturday with a great game plan. Pinned Doc to the goal square playing Howse at Full Forward. Told the Bunny midfield to play through Dale Nolan mans and make him accountable, same with all the Bunny forwards. Told them to get on there bike run and make the Berger backs be accountable for there man and not zone off. Don't kick it high into the forward line make every kick out in front and they did it perfectly. Ran in waves, 5, 6 handballs ina row from half back to half forward.
Gotta say the Whitnall thing looked pretty ordinary, should be three weeks. Maltby was out cold for 6 minutes but is OK.
But Trewy will miss the second semi through suspension and believe it or not is a pretty like able guy but will back up any one in the yellow and black on the paddock.
Good half time scuffle involving 38 blokes. Was a dead-set buzz around the ground at half time, you could fell the hate. No wonder about a dozen cops turned up and just patrolled the ground after halftime
Bergers not gone, need to get Stinga and Micky Gay back on the paddock for the second semi which they should and come out with a much better game plan through out the game.
THe Bergs are way out of form but nothing that is not fixable over the next 2 weeks.

Rumour has it that your companion was last seen in front garden of a nearby house. Managed to catch most the game yesterday looked like u were gunna run over them but they proved to be a bit stronger in the end.
Cant beleive they played a final on that disgrace of a ground at eltham.

A few of us bears checked out the cobras vs Turtles match. Was a bit of a drop after watching the first half of Bundy vs the Bergers!!! but good to see a few ex bears running around in both teams colours.
Bundooras BnF went like this i believe.
1- Tim Mac
2- Dave Mitch
3- Mick Mitch
Lower Plenty nuturing some fine talent!!
Our game vs Resser yesterday was a bit of a let down. The boys were so keen for finals footy, but the 2 blues were just a bit better on the day. A bit of finals experience and another season together and the Bears will go further in 2007, theres no doubt in my mind.
I think Resser will beat Thommo, then play Macleod, and lose, so it will be a greensy macleod GF.

I take it that you weren't at the Lower V Reser final then Snake Boy???
The ground was in pretty reasonable shape and was in no way a factor on any of the 3 games played. In fact, over 70 goals were scored for the day and a good, but not huge, crowd enjoyed some solid and entertaining Footy.
It will be even better this week with the Mont V Nth 1st semi. Make sure you get down there O' Scaley 1 and see for yourself how good a Finals atmosphere the Eltham Ampitheare can create.

Mate you blokes have got the toughest bloke in the valley in Daniel Howse. Let the right blokes take care of Trew because that Fitzy character just embarrased himself. As for the Whitnal incident they happen in the heat of battle just made a bad decision in a split second. Shane is a top bloke and a top footballer if he has made a mistake im sure he will be man enough to give the fella he hurt a call and make sure he is ok.
This is the second time for whitnal last time he broke mick harrisons jaw against lalor. Hope know one laggs. Howsie is a tough little prick.
Went along a mutual spectator to watch an old team mate play 4 Whittlesea yesty. good size crowd, pretty good game to watch although at times over umpired but not to anyone's advantage.
Didnt get a book but thought the ruckman for Thomastown (#65 I think) did a mighty job against the impressive #23 for the Eagles, and just when I hoped for a spirited fightback big Zeb booted 3 in 10 minutes early in the last to put the game to bed.
Thought that when it was there to be won, Thomastown went a bit harder, had better numbers at most contests whilst a few Whittlesea lads stood abck hoping a team mate might win it and dish it out.
My opinion only, and only my 3rd Div2 match seen for the year.

Cricket gear wont be needed!!! We'll be back training for next year pretty soon. We've got a great bunch of blokes who love spending time together, so everyone will be keen to keep the group together and start training. Pretty much everyone committed for next year. As much as yesterday hurts, we knew we weren't going to come back and dominate and go straight back to divi 1. You only need to look at Lalor and Greensborough in recent times to see that it isn't that easy. We're rebuilding for the future.

Eltham is a good ground for finals. Shielded from wind (unlike epping), the surface is okay and there is a good area for the crowd to stand on the hill in front of teh clubrooms.

For all the div 2 watchers have heard from a good source that a greensborough player has backed himself for a decent sum of money to win BOG award on grand final day in a greensborough flag.
Very confident in his ability against there biggest threat macleod.
Would it be one of the Atkins boys?
Ruck is probably not Macleod's strong suit, so I'd reckon Tim and Dylan would be pretty confident of having a big day against them if they do meet in the big one.

Was disappointed in Mayo's game. Won't get picked in a GF with form like that.
Can't see how Big Mick can play 3 weeks after having two screws inserted. Bergers would be brave to pick him but they certainly missed his domination of the stoppages and Dean's bite across half forward. Hally and Shears were very average while the Bunny talls were impressive. Believe the Hberg 6'6" twos ruckman has refused to play seniors.
Bundoora play tight and love an armwrestle. Hunts and his braintrust need to unlock this pressure.
I wonder if Vinnie played the Gloury up-foward card too early. Promises to
be a firey 2nd semi.

From someone who played on Eltham's ground at the weekend, I thought it was pretty good. The best surface I played on this year was Thomastown without a doubt. Our surface holds up pretty well these days too. Maybe they could look at playing finals there in the future.

Eltham was ok to play on, a few patches were a bit slippery and a couple times i lost footing, but considering some of the rain last week, and the reputation of Eltham, then it was good. They're digging it up and relaying it in November, so it will be one of the best grounds ion the comp in a couple years, for footy and cricket.

For your information i was at the game on sunday and did enjoy the game the footy that was put on but if that is the best ground that the diamond valley have to offer maybe they should consider looking other places to host the finals, ie koonung reserve in bulleen. Im sure any of the lower players that witnessed the cobras v turtles game there on saturday would agree that surface there s**ts all over what was on offer on sunday at eltham.
This would also make the game totally neutral to all partys involved.

i totally agree with the surface ant nuetality (is that a word) but the Cobras ground has little parking, and the general facilities and spectator areas cant compare with Eltham. much in the same way as they wont hold finals at Northcote.

Cheers GYTM - The other forward who can play back is Swindon (you missed Curtly because he was out against you blokes) I rate him much higher then Yeo.
You are right though, Monts big concern is Puffer - don't really have a backman to match with his strength - I think he had 6 or so on the board last time before he got injured in the third. I think it will be tighter than the last two encounters - but like the last two times - hoping superior fitness and leg speed will get Mont over the line.
J& B don't be fooled by Puffer's size.
He gets the majority of his goals from short sharp leads. He is pretty quick over 5-7 metres and once he gets that large rump out in front he just blocks the defender. You need soemone who is quick off the mark and able to get a fist in. Puffer takes no packs marks and rarely stands still and pushes and shoves. The Bergs beat North by 7 gaols and Puffer kicked 8 and set up three others. He is a class act. Very smart folotballer.
Legih Gray highly doubtful with a dodgy shoulder.

That's just it Dwight - not sure we have anyone who fits that description!
Often this year we have had trouble with big forwards (Grainger, Shearer) and while Puffer might not take pack marks against the likes of the Berger defence .. he did it on regular occasion last time we played them!! Our defence can run the lines ...but it lacks a big body ala Zac A. We probably need to have someone fill the whole - stop that quick lead (glad its not me!)
Gray will be a big loss for them - even though Neil had done a great job on him last few times. Hope your mail is good.

So much slower and predicable footy... One onlooker that watched our game Saturday said with the side we had in on saturday, we were still a 8-12 goal better side than Thommo, and a 12-15 goal better side than Whittlesea. We have played 3 years of divvy 2, and played in 3 Grand Finals for 2 flags... Thats what makes me laugh, people think that Divvy 2 talk upsets us. Of course it isnt ideal, but it aint the end of the world either.

I wont elaborate on any recruits until seasons end.
No doubt you will probably go into next season as flag favourites. In saying that though, it can be easy to make judgement from the other side of the fence as to how you rate yourselves against other teams. When you're our there it can be a different kettle of fish. I'm sure we probably would have rated ourselves a better chance against Thommo and Whittlesea than against Reservoir, but who knows what can happen on the day. We will certainly need to improve to be able to compete with you next year. We will be looking for that improvement to mainly come from within though i would say, rather than chasing too many recruits. We wouldn't want to go mucking around with the fabric of what is a good, young group of guys at the moment.
GYTM, is it fair to say that at this time of year, talk of recruits is just speculation and that no one is really confirmed until later in the year when they show up at pre-season training???
