hahah very funny, but everyone stopped using that joke in the early 90's back when i was a gun defender for the bloods back when football was football, u were prob to scared to play on me because u would have been s hitting urself. note to all of u morons that bag me on here i have made bundoora the club it is today that is why we are one of the tightest group of players going around, and also very successful, so stop jumping on the internet and hanging s hit on people who are doing there best to improve their club and the league, u are all gutless!

Stop pretending to be Vinny dips**t.Knowing the real Vinny he would not bother with this crap being a coach of a senior club.My friend you are not helping your club pretending to be someone else. Finally i have played against Vinny for 20 years and i still cant remember anyone s**ting themselves .Come forward and reveal yourself or go down as another truelly gutless cyber space freak.

while the dvfl was made a laughing stock for pushing season start back,it now shows how correct they have been.

Matchwinner - You are not wrong there. However, every club in the Valley has about 6 months worth of pre season under their belt so I seriously expect everyone to be "flying"!!
dont get me wrong here , how is this season any different to other seasons, in terms of training etc.
surely footy clubs start a pre season on a set date & go from there.
i know there hasnt been to many praccy games, give me a break & pls explain.
when the heat is applied then we will have a proper understanding of your so called 'flying ' pre season.
so many rumours, so much innuendo.
let the game begin for f..k sake.

greensborough will be very young this year, will struggle in div. i think the greensborough fans will realise that they arn't as good as they think they are this season, very interesting which players stand up against the bigger bodies and pace of the game. big difference to that s hit in div 2.[/quote]

D**khead, if you take nothing more out of this forum, but the two very good points BA made in above post, you will be grateful. Word of warning tool, if the real VinnyD does find out who you are, or any of the Bundoora commitee for that matter, i would suggest they would not be as polite to you, as we have been.
Secondly tool, read the 'bold' statements in the above. You are a walking contradiction. First post - you claim to be someone who wants to be known as imroving their club and league. Second post - you verbally downgrade 2nd Divvy DV. Grow up fool. DVFL is an all encompassing league of every club. Including juniors, and juniors without senior affiliates. And yes, even Divvy 2 too. Please do yourself a favour and quit while you still have all your limbs intact.
I wont ever find out who you really are, and quite frankly your comments on here dont reflect on me or the clubs i follow. But i would presume that those in the know at Bundoora will in time find out who you are, and your posts will be cutting them to the bone.
I look forward to the day that i read a post on here re what the boys at Bundoora have done to the proxy 'VinnyD' from Bigfooty.
If i were you, i would heed this good advice.

fig9 you are a west p fan, right?
I have only driven past grounds recently, but because most clubs are not training at their own grounds, its hard to pull the car in and watch.
I did travel past Eltham last week. I didnt know their ground had been dug up. They were about to begin training, approx 35 blokes, all in black n red. I didnt watch. I will be travelling to West soon.
Now we have some praccy matches i expect this forum to be full of post match reviews.
BTW - My opinion for West Pres - Give the skipper role to Matty Calcutt. Young enough to carry that torch for couple of years - committed enough (on & off track) to have faith in him, and good enough (ability) to never have his side position questioned. Many other Benefits as well. A west man thru & thru.

Yeh, big money being spent by the state government and all that, we're getting $800,000 on the new field, which will probably be ready for cricket by Christmas, since the people that are fixing the ground ****ed it up and have been lazy so and so's - the original date set was round 1 of cricket.

Panthers are playing at Plenty Park and have been training at Lower Eltham, but as you know that is on the hush.

Clubs allowed back onto grounds as of the 1st of April(not april fools). The council will be placing the onus on clubs to make sure grounds are suitable for play. This may force clubs to still train at alternative venues to ensure grounds are not affected by heavy traffic. Grounds are to be inspected by competing clubs before play and both parties are to agree the surface is safe before play is to comence.

Councils will still be inspecting grounds and clubs can still be forced off them if they are not up to scratch. I can see a few games being cancelled during the year and would advise all clubs to take out premium insurance packages this year. Just another way to screw the poorer clubs.

Looking forward to what seems to be a tough year for all.

Do club share the points for non-play? Who would agree to play Mont or Bundoora on their grounds it would be better to say the gounds aren't up to scratch walk off have a beer get 2 points and don't pay you players.

****, was it that much? didn't even realise. not making excuses for Lower Plenty, they were beaten by a far better side, however, they would of been much more competitive if that wasn't their first hit out for the year, if 7 players didn't have to back up for a second game (15 fresh players for the seniors), if they weren't missing 6 key players and the three injuries through out the game didn't help either. was very impressed with how Echuca moved the ball and took every opportunity they had. will they go close to winning the flag this year?

Yeah I must say, 7 weeks out until your season is due to start it would be hard to perform well in your first practice match. I still would have thought that it would have been a much more competitive match but that's how it goes.

I would say with the inclusion of a couple more players, United will give the league leaders of the previous 2 years, Nathalia, a real shake as well as Barooga and Mulwala.

I'd say it was closer to 8 or 9 key players out. Plus a lot of new and younger players playing together for the first time. We were certainly very rusty and have some things to work on before the real season kicks off. That's what practice matches are for though!

Echuca United did look good. Moved the ball a lot better and had a lot more system than us!

Parkside FC played Coburg Districts on Saturday in a 6 quarter game.

Final Scores

Parkside 14 . 9 . 93
Coburg Districts 7 . 8. 50

Game was a bit scrappy in patches, but was the first hit out for both clubs. Both sides seem to field mostly their 2's in the first few quarter and played their senior playeras over the last 3. The game kicked up a gear in the 4th because of this, but PFC seemed to have the better structure and won quite easily in the end.

DVFL WATCH - Saw the Greensborough boys pounding the pavement. Dicko seems to be riding them into the ground. No footy's ,just plenty of running.
Kinglake have had good numbers on the track (perhaps about 30 to 35 on average). Although some could do with a little brushing up on their skills (with 5 weeks to go until the first bounce this is to be expected I guess).
Manage to catch Thomastown's practice match last Thursday night also. Spotted one guy from last year's list whose name escapes me. He was wearing a number 6 Thomastown jumper and certainly looks fitter than 2006. Yet another small forward that they seem to have a number of.

I believe Mernda turned down Paul King for their senior coaching position. There would be 2nd divvy clubs and most 1st divvy clubs stumbling over themselves to get this bloke on board. True to form Mernda they chose the weak option for their hierarchy.
Consiquently, most of the defected Bundoora players have ended up at Watsonia, with Trev Little.
If only Mernda would ever look outside that in-bred town they live in, they may acutally get somwhere.

Anyone know the end result in the Kilmore v Lalor game today? I left with a quarter to go and Lalor had pulled away to about a 6 goal lead. Liked the look of 12 (i think) who kicked a few goals, 7 (long sleeves), 15 across half back and the young ruckman (#22???) had a presence thru the corridor early. Big guy number 41 did some nice things before I think getting sent off.

Took Lalor a while to get going, Kilmore rested a few after half time which allowed Lalor to dictate terms better.

Whittlesea came from behind to win by about 15 points. Had at least 6 regular seniors out. Riddell improved a lot from the practice game last year. Interesting to see how Watsonia will go against them.

How are whittlesea looking this year. Heard you picked up Burleigh from Eltham, He use to dominate against us in 19's. Got any other new recruits.

GYTM - I have spotted the same team training at Bundoora RMIT and have no idea who it is. At first I thought it could be Eltham but have had confirmation that they have been training at St Monica's.
It certainly isn't Thomastown, although I do feel that the Towners are now training elsewhere. I noticed that they weren't on the track at St Monica's last Thursday. Perhaps they have had to relocate??

Not sure who it is either, but it could be Bundoora based VAFA club Old Paradians.

seen an interesting observer at the wallan v romsey game on sat.
none other the king from bundoora, perhaps looking for greener pastures.
wallan looked slow & are in for a longggg year, nothing coming along apart from baker, his fees might cost the club (500) per game not bad coin.

here we go for another rumour/fact.
club people at the meeting tonight looking at a 300 page document & having to vote/pass this.what a night it is going to be for them.
clubs will need to have the dv logo on their jumpers shortly.
further to that is there has been mooted a name change for the league, the name that is being looked at is NORTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
it is trying to align suburbs to location i.e southern, eastern etc,the reason for the proposed name change is because the name dvfl is tainted by our friend floyd.
will keep you posted in future outcomes.

Had a couple of players from Reservoir train with us (Watsonia) last night. They said that all the players are leaving and it looks like the club is going to fold. I don't understand how this can happen when they were such a quality outfit last year? Does anyone know whats going on down there and why are all the players leaving??

Hoggy's looking great, very agile and athletic which is really handy for a guy his height! Not many tall blokes can move around like he does. Looks like he might be our number 1 ruckmen this year!!

To be honest I don't expect us to go all the way this year, but we will be a very competitive side. We are just building our team gradually at the moment, I think next year or the year after we will be having a real big crack at it. We might surprise a few of the top teams this year though.:thumbsu:

They're probably the same 2 players who trained with us a few weeks back. Apparently they have trained at 6 or 7 clubs so far. Certainly shopping around!

They have certainly fallen apart from last season. Might have something to do with coach leaving. We've got Pretty playing with us and also had Breeding train, but i think he's going to Pascoe Vale, where O'Mera has also gone. And i think McGregor has gone to Port Colts. I think i saw on the clearances that their ruckman Keyes has also gone somewhere. So they've lost most of their best players from last year by the look of it and will probably struggle.

How long had the coach been there at Reservoir? Amazing how they have all jumped ship! There obviously isn't much loyalty down there. I reckon your right about the 2 players shopping around, I did overhear that at least one of them had trained with you.

Creek did go down by 10 odd goals against hoppers. However there was around 25 players from both sides missing due to cricket trips and a players bucks party. Also one very key member, who is looking absolutely massive this yr was up at the golden slipper watching ollie go bang! Due to this lack of numbers, some old timers had to pull the boots on including 2s coach shane lyons who kicked a ripper goal. Creek did blood five young players who got their first crack at seniors. Also, a couple of new recruits got their 1st game in the blue and impressed. And considering it was hoppers final hitout b4 starting it was expected that they would be fitter than us. The margin was only three goals at halftime, but they ran away with it in the last qtr. Good day though and glad to be back in it.

Huh??

Played Shepp yesterday Brutal - two's had a win, and undermanned 1's got beaten by a well drilled Shepp. Missing was: Watto, Gutto, Swindon, Andy Owen, Yeoey, Matty Cusack . You'd expect them to be a bit further advanced in their prep as their season starts next week.

The only match to be cancelled was against Craigieburn - and that was due to not having a ground!

Sorry JB, just repeating comments from one of your former stalwarts. Have heard that a few blokes have not shown up to training due to current coach. Also you may be able to confirm if a kid straight out of the Knights who has not played a senior game of football and would probably be lucky to get a game in most div 1 sides has signed with you blokes for $250 a game, not bad coin for an 18yo. Good luck to him if it`s true but could be fairly irresponsable on Monts part, paying way above the odds for young blokes who aren`t proven senior players. Kid has ability but should not be getting that coin. Would be interesting if you could confirm.

heard there is a couple down at Eltham on more who are straight out of Northern U/18's. However, these players would be worth every cent IMO.
