Surely Ferguson would now qualify as having a long-term injury, which means that we can promote a rookie to the senior list, right ?
Danny Hughes might not be the worst choice, good hands and could provide a target up forward.

Melbourne v Adelaide
Melbourne
Ryan Ferguson (broken ribs and collapsed lung) 8-12 weeks
Clint Bizzell (calf) Test
Daniel Bell (groin) 1 week
Matthew Warnock (broken thumb) test
Jace Bode (knee) Test
Theres the injury list for those who are interested, i hope Warnock gets up, i'd prefer him over Nicho.

Daniher conceded that Adem Yze had got off to a particularly bad start in 2006. "Adem knows he's got to perform better than that. His first two weeks have been disappointing. He got (Robert) Murphy on the weekend, and one-out he struggled, but there'll be a few blokes who struggle on Murphy. Every now and then in the back line, you're going to lower your colours. He did, he's not happy with it, and he knows he needs to pick up his performance."
But the coach said he didn't believe too many of his key players were underdone for fitness, though Bruce (hamstring), Brock McLean (thigh), Brent Moloney (shoulder) and Brad Miller (osteitis pubis) have had restricted pre-seasons.
He noted that Adelaide skipper Mark Ricciuto, who also did little pre-season because of injury but exploded into the new season with 11 goals in two games, had done his work from the goal square rather than on the ball.
"In an ideal scenario, you'd like them to have at least one or two matches coming into the season, but you've always got a few injuries, and we've got a few blokes I think will really improve over the next month," he said. "I saw some really good improvement last week. We're not flying at the moment, I'm not going to throw that at you, but I really do believe we're going to get better."
Daniher confirmed that Jared Rivers, missing with a shoulder injury since the NAB Cup game against the Brisbane Lions, would replace Ryan Ferguson, expected to miss up to three months with three broken ribs, and said Alistair Nicholson may be considered. Both were impressive for Sandringham in the VFL at the weekend.
