Well done Mojo you nailed it with your assesment on Mills and his agility, really shown up last night by Riewoldt in the agility stakes. Good Call:thumbsu:

Did you watch Mills against Essendon though?
Don't write him off after 1 game, and for the love of God, don't listen to that dribbling channel 9 commentary team.

Agree, give him some time to develop. Remember, some take time (such as Walker).

That is funny; how come (as far as can I remember it) Mills draft camp results in the agility tests were better than Riewoldt's?
Don't get me wrong, Riewoldt is the better over-all athlete and player but I don't know if agility is Mills problem.

It was against the Saints, and i am far from writi-ng him off he will be a good player he just got turened inside out to easily which is what Mojo said was his problem.:)

Certainly looked out of his depth on Thursday night, but he does need some time to develop. Better off making an assessment on him in a couple of years.

Mills has a good leap and superb endurance but lacks agility. His testing is no where near Riewoldts level in speed and agility. (Riewoldt runs a 2.87 for the 20m)
Mills has decent speed from 10 to 20m. 5 to 10 its okay but 0 to 5 is poor. So in a short straight lead from a starting position he is a goner against anyone quick. You couple that with Nick making sure the lead was genearlly to the open isde and forcing Mills to not be able to run in a straight line and making him take 1 or 2 sidwayds steps to change direction and he was killed (no agility). Mills at CHB is a goer but at FB he is a sitting duck against quick players. On the Scotty Lucas types he is good value who are not that quick but work hard. Mills has a strong body and works really hard and is suited to being in motion and longer leads rather than short quick ones where he is stationary.
Brisbane should have pushed Clark deep forward with Brown and had Bradshaw on Riewoldt if they did not want to move Mal of Gehrig. Then moved Mills on the half back line where he would have not been killed. Just my opinion.
Mills has some good qualities but at full back he has defiencies which will be exposed. Further up the ground he will be a good prospect.

Sorry, I probably got mixed up with his indurance testing.
Mojo, do you know how Livo's agility stacked up that same year as Riewoldt's? I bet it would be low.

Riewoldt tested off the planet for his testing on all counts from memory. Beep, agility and 20m sprint plus leap. Livo was quick for the 20m but a low beep (12 or so) and a decent leap but high 8s for the agility.
Mills is taller than Livo, not quite as quick at draft camp and about the same agility but has much better endurance. Both cant kick.
Similar types but at lest Mills with his extra height and superb endurance can push further up the ground to CHB/HBF.
Livo was one of those 190cm KP types who has great speed at draft camp and good form late in the year but it was not over a long period of time and the form was a bit temporary. To many question marks on him to make it at the time and has been born out. Did not grow much, did not develop his kikcing. Poor decision maker and lacks endurance and agility which prevent him playing anywhere other than full back, back pocket. Add poor development from the coaches early on and his injuries and no wonder he is struggling.
Compared to Livo (191cms)
Kennedy 195, good endurance and can kick.
Bower 193 (bottom aged and growing still), decent athlete and can kick (a bit awkward though)
Hartlett 195, decent athlete and a booming kick.
No undersized KPP in that lot and no huge defiencies to work on. Harts is struggling with his body but at least 3 these KPP we have selected have the physical tools to make it. Maybe they will and maybe they will not but at least we did not "reach" for any of them.
Guys like Flint, Raso and Edwards might not become KPP but for rookie picks, late picks thats fine. Just no huge question marks on a tall when you take them early (first 2 rounds). You can work on a players defiencies but they have to have a decent base to start with. In my opinion Livo did not have that and it shows now.
