Any suggestions on the next President apparently it will be Graham Smorgan, don't know much about him hope he can deal with the public relations side of the club a bit better than Collo has, but has to stick to the financial plan put in place by Collo, we just need a good spruiker to get the brand turning over again
really. Greg Lee sounds alright and has some good ideas but needs more time on the board before he takes a crack at it, was impressed with his idea on the renaming of the Elliot stand whereby we sold seats for people to put there name on which generated 800K for the club, the sort of thing we need to be doing to generate cash flow at a minimum outlay. Maybe Smorgan running the financials with Lee handling the promotion and media side of the club could be a good mix. Would like to see ******** Pratt get more involved he could be a good President in the future and his profile could help the club pull in corporate sponsors maybe even get Visy as our main sponsor.;)

PS: The poll is just hypothetical candidates so don't take it to serious, thats for anyone thinking of attacking my choice of candidates.

I don't know ... what's Alba offering as a sweetener?

Smorgon will be there at least for the interim as the next long term president builds his campaign.

Mojo31! :thumbsu:

But I think we could do with a headkicker like TheSheik.

Agree entirely ODN - I seem to be dointg this alot lately mate.!!

Reading what Mojo31 has written about Greg Lee, and what i've read about him in the press, he sounds like a very good candidate to be the next president, although i'd like him to get some runs on the board so to speak at board level.

Smorgon is a good choice as an interim president, and he will hopefully lead the club with passion.

Passion and Smorgon are not on the same planet.

My info tells me Smorgon will be President and he will have 2 deputies being his spokespersons.
One of whom got in by 7 votes...

Smorgon has had a triple charisma bypass of late.... he will find a negative in the most positive of events! Dont think he is the greatest option on Tuesday.

We need someone who has some good business ideals, marketing prowess, top manegerial skills, leadership and all round passion for the club. Smorgon isnt the best option... havnt heard tooo much on Lee, but what i have seen and heard he is clearly the best option.

Honestly wouldnt mind them headhunting a carlton supporter in a marketing/management company who can guide the club to future success - if he lacks a tiny bit of footy knowledge, surely the other 8 on the board could account for it?

Yikes, that doesn't sound real good. Perhaps the board should throw Greg Lee in at the deep end!!
