Starting this thread to get some pre-match discussion going. I don't see any way the Hawks can lose by less than 45 points. Even in the wet weather I don't think that will quell Geelong's scoring power.

Kingsley to kick 9.

I'd love to see another big spanking but the weather will probably equalise things somewhat.

Kingsley will probably kick 4 or 5 at the least on Dawson.

Even if the whether is crap Geelong will easily win. I am expecting Geelong to dominate from the start and in the end win by ten goals plus. Sorry Hawk supporters.

C'mon Cats - should be doing better than this. Midfield not really yet having the required influence.

Missing Scarlo's mobility in the backline.

Geelong are soft, not taking the Hawks seriously...hopefully they have a big second half and wipe the floor with them

Gee the weather makes such a big difference between two sides. Geelong is far superior but the Hawkers can make the game a scrub and therefore are in with a red hot chance now.

We are playing shocking football. Take nothing away from the hawks, playing with great intensity, getting all the clearences, tackling, getting numbers to the contests. Just the way i wanted Geelong to play.

So when Sydney lost rounds 4, 5 & 6 by a combined 120 points last year, did you say the same thing ??
FFS, it's only round 3 !!!

blues4flag
15 Apr 2006, 17:46
Was a fantastic first three quarters, though last was horrible as the Cats stopped. Good win by the Hawks but Cats weren't as bad as the scoreline suggests, a pathetic last quarter blew the margin out.

LoneStar
15 Apr 2006, 17:46
Weak effort from the Cats, but still a good win for Hawks. A 52-point win at Skilled would be a great result for any visiting side.
It's a long season and Hawks may not be a Finals contender at the moment, but I don't reckon other clubs can pencil in a win when they see the Hawks up next on the fixture. And I don't think it's premature to claim they're not a spoon contender at the moment!

Probably :)

But its just a feeling I have about the Geelong side. I may be proved wrong but I don't see them as a premiership type side.

Sure Brisbane got belted by the Eagles regularly during their 3-peat but they were a tough and intimidating side? Are Geelong...?
