The NAB chief will soon assume the role of president of the Carlton Football Club. He has by his influence with NAB already pumped some money Carlton's way (notice all the NAB signs around the dome tonight) and is keen to put his stamp on the blues.
It's not the first time he has tried to help the Blues, he had set up a significant secondary sponsorship deal with Carlton when he was CEO at Citigroup Australia but it fell through when he jumped shipped to the NAB. Citi then switched it sponsorship to the Swans.
Mr Fahour loves the limelight, loves the Blues and will be a front runner with his good mate Graham Smorgan to lead the Blues.

Not seeing it. No way would the NAB allow it's CEO to spend an average 40 hours a week ( what most pundents say is the norm ) on something other than bank business.

Correct, the NAB Board has already told him that they don't pay him sh*t loads to spend the majority of time looking after a football club.
He will not be Carlton President whilst he is at the NAB. It is a shame, as we actually have a bloke here who is prepared to do the job and is a very polished business man in his own right.
