View Full Version : Juddy slowed a bit lately?
I maybe imagining things but Juddy seems to have lost a bit of pace. He also seems to not be able to break tackles anymore, in fact it's been a while since I recall him breaking a tackle. He was very capable of standing up in a tackle and then breaking away. Maybe it's because he has an opponent wearing him like a second skin. Maybe he is just going thru a flat patch. Anyway, the point to this thread is that his Team mates need to pick up on this because it may result in a turnover if they assume he is going to be able to dish it out every time.

Just playing a non flashy captain style of football atm
won't win him a brownlow but will help the team win games

Didn't watch him break 3 tackles in Adelaide last week?
Or stand up mutiple times to get a handball off?
definately not slow! didnt anyone see him almost run deldio down on teh weekend? deledio suppose to be the quickest in the afl and judd made up about 5 metres on him and both were sprinting..
as for the running judd were use to seeing, i think he has matured more over pre season.. instead of running and ignoring first option, he just kicks it to the first option to start of with, hence not taking on more people..
which as someone already said wont win him brownlows but will win games for the eagles..

Judd is meant to be the quickest in the AFL.
Judd is meant to be the quickest in the AFL.
no he's not.. it's said that deledio and someone from freemantle who doesnt get a frequent game.. can't remember his name now, but i heard there spose to be the quickest..
well my point was that i thought judd was quicker than deledio as he made meters on him when he was chasing him when both were sprinting..
anyway judd hasnt slowed thats for sure.. if anything hes quicker..

he had three bounces and steadied to balance for the kick. did you see when deledio seen someone coming he put in for 10m and burnt judd before steading so he had enough time to kick it.

James Walker? Always wins the sprint race on GF day....dont know how official that is though.
Davey, Lovett etc, there are plenty quicker than Judd. Juddy just has great strength and acceleration, in which i cant say that i have noticed him losing this season.
Btw, G'day to all you Eagles fans, hope to have some good discussions on here.
deledio won the sprint last year but i think walker fell or something in the heats..
andre gianfagna (melbourne rookie) will win it this year
imright

Deledio after trying to outrun Judd put in a shocking kick due to the hand in the side from Judd. Deledio is normally an outstanding kick so its safe to say that when Judd "tagged" him it put his normally immaculate disposal off and resulted in a turnover to the Eagles. If he had kicked the ball first instead of trying lairise with the ball it would have been an easy goal to Richmond. I'm sure he would have learnt a lesson about not underestimating Judd's closing speed.
It's more Judd's acceleration than his speed. Quickest player in the league off a few steps.
