View Full Version : Brad Fisher
Just wondering what your thoughts are on him .
I know that he has been injury prone , but in the few games I have seen him play he has really impressed me . Takes a really good grab for his size and seems to be a difficult matchup for opposition . If you can get him, Fevola and Waite up and running together you will have quite a good forward line .

Is a great Mark, and more than handy third tall when Waite, and fev are all up and running, howver this week theres a good chance that none of those guys will be playing, If Fisher does play, he will be our most experienced forward. We'll see how he goes as the main target.

Might have to risk both Fisher and Waite..
Fisher's a gun though. Could quite possibly turn out better than Waite and Fevola. There's a lot of James Hird about him.
He's not built like a key forward but he certainly plays like one with the way he gets up and continuously takes contested grabs. He's a great player IMO, One of my favourites. He will be our entire forward line this week thought as Waite and Fevola both aren't playing. It'll be interesting to see how he goes straight back from injury.

dont know about the hird comparison but I've always felt that fisher is more important to our team structure than fev. If he can get a good injury run will be a gun - great endurance, great hands - kicking is apparently suspect but his conversion for goal is still good (around 65-70% from memory)

Fisher is a wonderful player and is making Black Friday more and more bearable with every game he plays.
He along with Waite, Kennedy, Fevola, and Betts might make a very dangerous line-up in a year or so, but time will tell, as all except Fev, are still learning and fairly young.

as meat loaf once sang, two out of three aint bad;)
There are rumours that kennedy and ohalpin will be playing. This is great. If Lanace gets swung into the frward line, and despite his solid form it is a real possibility, we will look resepctable down forward. Great time to introduce these two afl novices, against a comparatively young team in the hawks.

They are, and also said Brad Fisher should be back for hawthorn's game friday which is good news, :thumbsu: and Lappin told Pagan he's 95% to play :thumbsu: so who knows ;) it be good if they both play we need one of them at least,
Anyone out for the clash (sporn ?) I thought Chambers wasnt to bad either (deluca being the other) did a few good things, carried the ball etc. What chance of someone else stepping into the backline.

hard to say, at least fev's not out as Long as Essendons lloyd 5 weeks with a tear hami. lets show em we can beat the hawks with out Fev, its a team game not a one man show, how many sides win when their fullforward hardly get the ball alot, eg barry hall 1 goal for the game
lets start to get physical carlton take it out on the Hawks :) wear em and tearm to bits ;) :thumbsu:

Waite carved up Hawthorn at the dome in round 6 last year and it wouldn't surprise me if Fisher or O'hAilpin did the same this time.

Reading pagans comments, and in relation to those above, we need to get over these bad starts. In fact we need to cream someone. I think that if carlton can go into the long break 3-4 goals up they will winish 8 goals up on recent form.
Having said that I started the season full of confidence, early loses and injuries have adjusted my opinion. Kennedy and Setanta MUST stand up.
(Along with YOU scotland !).

I agree with you on your first point.
QUARTER TIME SCORES
Round 1 V Melbourne - 3.3 V 3.3 = Win By 21 Points
Round 2 v Fremantle - 2.2 V 7.2 = Loss By 15 Points
Round 3 V Sydney - 1.3 V 4.3 = Loss By 7 Points
So if we can be close or even in from at quarter time, I fell quite confident that we will win.
However on your other point that Carlos and Josh must stand up, be realistic Carlos has played 1 game and only 3 years ago saw a footy for the first time, and Josh has played 1 game back from major shoulder surgery in the off-season. Saying they need to be the key targets is just putting unwanted pressure on them.

built the only way Carlton can get any money if for afl to give them games at prices park, carlton only 4 years left on their telstra contract :)
they don;t even get money from telstra dome or mcg.
hope lappin plays we need him,
at least were managing to keep away from bottom due to very small losses not not loosing too much %

Based on training yesterday Fish will definetely play and his kicking on goal at training was sensational, Setanta will play but unlike Fish his kicking on goal was terrible, Waite will not play and i am not convinced that Kennedy will line up, Lappin trained well and is definetly playing.:thumbsu:

More about the MUST stand up if we are going to win. Yep plenty of pressure, ................afl.
