He'd be a good band aid solution, but poor outlook for the future really.
Who says he will be as good at Sydney? what will happen to who we trade for him? We would kick oursleves if they became accomplished players and only got one year outta Spida or he injured himself and have to pay him hundreds of thousands to sit on the sidelines.

He's too old and too injury prone to be given a bit fat contract. If it were something small and reasonable to his capabilities knowing full well his weakness' (injuries and age) then i don't see why not? If he is asking for too much i would not move heaven and hell to get him at all.
The dollar cost of a short term contract wouldn't be the issue. He's proved himself to be a good enough player over a long period of time to justify it.
The issue would be what it cost the Swans in terms of a trade -despite his age, Hawthorn would still expect a decent player or pick exchange.
Unless of course the Swans qualify for the first pick in the PSD...;)

This year would've been the year, I suspect now given his age that next year would be too late.
If our ruck stocks look as bad as they are today (Torture + Jolly looking doubtfull with an injury) then maybe we'll take him anyway.

I reckon it could happen.
a) He wants a multi-year deal, we only want to give him a 1 year deal.
b) We have Campbell on fire, Bailey and McEntee have huge wraps and Taylor is a decent backup
Feel free to give us Malceski ;).

Throwing in Lewis are you? :D
Seriously - last year it was picks that were on the table. The same is true this year... only this time Everitt will be another year older and might be out of contract.

yes i would like spida at sydney
doyle and chambers would be a good swap
I dont think we need him. I have a good feeling that chambers can stand up. He is fairly old and definitely wouldnt come cheap.

Yes pls.
I would have taken him for this season and next as a help for the younger talls and a stopgap in case Chambers failed and Doyle continued on the sick list. Probably wouldn't bother for next season.
From my memory Spida plays the SCG very well and has beaten us by himself on the ground afew times in the past. So i would pick him up and only play him at the SCG. But i would not offer too much in the way of a trade. His age is a telling factor.
And i am starting to like the idea that Chambers could be in the same mould as Dean Cox from WCE. A hack a few years ago and 2nd to Michael Gardiner only to improve 10 fold and be first ruck now. But his rucking seems good, its just his foot skills which let him down 10 fold.
