Rumour has it Brian Speaking has done it again. He managed to convince a player to join the VAFA from the EFL. Problem is he had some exposure to SKOBS and decided he would be better off at Xavs. What is wrong with SKOBS? Do the change rooms smell like an abbatoir on a 40 degree day?

1. Crappy job with no prospects in return for playing for a B Grade team that has no facilities and no prospects; or

2. No promises but some introductions to prospective employers and an opportunity to play for the most successful modern day A Grade football club and most likely playing in finals.

He was advised to play for St Kevins if they had a job for him, as Xavs would give him no guarantees. He thought about it (for about 5 seconds - the kid is not stupid) and chose Xavs.

I now find it funny that Tiz is ringing his St Kevins mates trying to get help with Hackett on the job front. You know this is true Menages, so don't deny it, Doof and several of us had a big laugh over it!
As far as young Bens intelligence, I think the jury is well and truly out. He knocks back a glamour gig, the chance to lift weights, swim and train in a brand new $14 million facility, play at Headquarters every second week and try to help a young side win a Flag and create history.
Insted he chooses a waterlogged Toorak Park, a club where winning A grade flags is like shelling peas and you are not part of the clique until you have played in 6 consecutive flags. On top of this, he is turning up to Centrelink twice a week and his mate Lynch is relegated to playing in the magoos!!!
As far as the SKOB recruiting manager goes, well, he'd be right there....

Long and short Skevs are in B grade and will stay there for a while, everyone that is not involved with Xav's hate them but you have to admire them and they are a force.

Now, i also have to disagree with the Andrew Ramsden worst bloke, he is a saint compaired to his younger brother. Next time your out at Bulleen take the time to go and have a beer with the big fella and you'll change your mind
