Given the quality of this years draft, someone like Kerr would have to be offered up to get a pick sufficient to get someone like of Gumbleton.
Clubs wont be trading away early picks at all this year IMO.

u said it, gumbleton looking like top 5 minimum at this stage.
i'm guessing clubs wont give up top 10 picks unless something extroidinary is offered.

Over the last couple of years a lot of the good KPP's have been coming out of WA and going very early in the draft :( and for this reason it is very hard to target these players as clubs just don't trade away early draft picks anymore unless it's for an elite player.
IMO it's just not worth the risk considering it may take a few years for a Gumbleton to show if he will make it at the AFL level (still waiting for Doogs as a good example).
A tactic WCE seem to have employed in regards to talls is to look for players in the local competition and bring them up through the Rookie list.
See Cox, Lynch and Graham as prime examples
We shouldnt have anyone on our books with a silly name like Gumbleton :D
Lynch drops a mark

only way I can see us get a decent pick is to trade Gaspar + our first round (14-16) to the dogs (7-10) for their first round and 2nd round pick
this is if gaspar has a good year

bulldogs would laugh at u with that offer:D
Were much more likely to trade away our first rounder then to trade up.....

If we got him, hope he wouldn't turn out like McDud. I think we should trade:
Gardiner/Gaspar/McGirl
+
First draft pick
FOR: Like pick 5-9

Not gonna happen.
or the eagles could sit him down and tell him to tell other interstate teams that he isn't interested and hopefully we have an earlier pick than freo and take him them.. that way he can stay with his family and play for the team he supports (well im guessing he supports the eagles since their the only big name club in WA) ;)
then if he is worried about the extra 5 grand or so the difference between a first and second round pick then we can just offer a third year contract on top worth more..
this is all condisering that he is as good as everyone is saying he is..

That would mean that WCE would finish below the Dockers this year. Nothing is worth that. Of course, if we trade for a better pick, that's ok. The chances, however,of a team giving up a high draft pick this year are virtually non-existent.

That's a bit rich for a team that's had Heady... and Cummings... and Cox... and...

No show of getting Gumby with 5-9.
Hansen, Gibbs, Gumby,Thorp and Sellars will the first 5 called out. So ever # 5 would not guarantee Gumby:(

Where's Jetta and Collard in your list of players to be drafted

Jetta around 8- 12 . Collard late first round / early second.
Collard is playing senior football and therefore his stocks may rise as the season unfolds.
I would expect Frementle to take Jetta if he was still available for their first pick.
IMO
