That is very suprising.....wow! What more could he do? Maybe Daniher read the match report in the paper. Wouldn't suprise me based on his recent coaching.
Anyway, I'm sure he'll be great for Sandy AGAIN and hopefully we'll see him next week (after Godfrey shanks a set shot from 10m straight in front out on the full)

bate is a star, he proved himself during the nab cup, and he should be playing seniors... this is ridiculous... we could be winning games with a champ like him!!!

Nathan Jones & Matthew Bate should both be in the team atm. Instead has-beens like Ward, Godfrey and even to an extent Brown & JMac keep getting games. We need to inject this youth into the team, give them experience and make other senior players earn their spot rather than just getting selected on reputation. An utter ********ing disgrace.
We need to blood Jones, Bate, Bartram, Warnock and keep giving time to Sylvia, McLean, Rivers & Miller IN THEIR KEY POSITIONS.

well we have bartram and warnock in the team, and sylvia,mclean and rivers are playing their positions and miller is half the time... i agree miller has to play forward. but if ur looking for us to make the finals and challenge for the premiership then were not gonna come back from 0-3 with soo many young guys in the team... godfrey has earnt his spot just as much as bait and we needed the tagger...

Been injured the entire pre-season (not that that's his fault), and did very little at Sandy last week. Compared to Bate, who has developed nicely, had a good pre-season, played VERY well in the NAB cup and has been BOG for Melbourne at Sandy the last two weeks. How has he earnt his spot over BATE? :confused:
And why do we need another tagger, when we already have Bartram and Junior? It's Sydney, not West Coast for god's sake.
Stupid negative coaching.

from the reports ive read hes had good matches, and i never said he earnt it MORE than Bate but only just as much... macca and bartram ahvent tagged that well either...
Bate had a good game in the nab cup, an average one, and a bad one if i remember correctly.. if he comes into our team can we really afford it if bartram, warnock and bate all have below par games due to inexperience? godfrey knows what its like in the seniors and hes not the greatest footballer but hes a safer bet than Bate.
im not applausing the decision but id be much more frustrated in the average performances of yze for the last 15 matches of his career.

Godfrey getting a game for us is ridiculous. Pencil in 30 touches for whoever he picks up. I don't care what people say 'The SCG will suit him' he shouldn't be in the side ahead of Bate.

We shouldn't be mentioning the word "finals" let alone "premiership" when we have so many has-beens in our team. I'd rather see the young guys get introduced, us miss the finals, and have a bigger dip at it next year, rather than fizzling out in the first round.

but the fact is that we have a similar and probably better team to last year, the potential is there, somewhere, and we could go far with this team. im sick of hearing melbourne saying every year that "next season" is gonna be the big one. and thats y its been 42 years since we last won the gf.
we can go somewhere with this team and seeing that daniher is out if he doesnt make the finals, i dont think hes gonna turn to a rebuilding stage for the year.

I thought Godders was pretty good today. Worked hard and his skill and decision making were better than usual. Don't worry, Bate will get his go, just like the likes of Sylvia, Miller, Rivers, etc. all had to wait their turn coming though the reserves before regular senior games. I would think he's a good chance to play next week with the injuries copped today.

bartram had a quiet game, godfrey was alright but could be dropped, plus with the injuries it really is time for bate to debut.
holland is a complete deffinate to line up in place of neitz.

Get over it FFS. We won the game, PJ was very good until he got injured and Godders had a crack.
Bate needed to have a more than 2 good games in a row to get selected, especially as a young player. Why have a crack so early at youth when the season isn't over yet? Go with the experience every time. Bate didn't do much today for Sandy from all reports, so there you go.
