View Full Version : Votes vs. Swans
5 - Byron Pickett: Best game he has played for us this year. 21 possessions, 8 marks and 1 goal, but it was his strong use of his body and smooth skills that made him stand out.
4 - Brad Miller: Kept Barry Hall to 8 possessions, 4 marks and 3 goals (could have been much worse). Was good in the contests and looked very composed.
3 - Nathan Brown: Used the ball very well today which is a change. As expected, lots of run and 18 possessions from the half back line.
2 - Cameron Bruce: 23 possessions, 6 tackles and 2 goals, including a sensational shot during the second quarter. Another quality game, should be leading our B&F.
1 - Adem Yze: Much better player for us up forward. Kicked 3 goals straight and kicked them when we needed them. Looked very dangerous up there.
Rivers stiff to not get a vote.
Wheatley and Godfrey were awful today.

5 - Bruce (rex hunt said this year he would become a genuine star, so far hes right)
4 - Pickett (Has been very serviceable in patches so far, but today was great, one contest in the middle when he came in at 100mph and took the ball out of goodes grasp, great attack on the ball)
3 - Miller (Conceded 3 goals, but one was from a crap holding the ball, and another from a disgraceful downfield free, so really only conceded 1 goal. Well done, now go back to CHF)
2 - Brown (Good rebound, has returned to form since being dropped. Courageous grab in last qtr)
1 - Rivers (cool and calm, just the usual game we expect from him. Very good)
Also, how good was Johnno in the last bit where we got a goal. Just sat there and moved in slow motion.

5. Pickett
4. Bruce
3. Miller (Please go back forward now)
2. Carroll (you could be mistaken for thinking that O'Loughin wasn't playing)
1. Davey (classic Davey preformance, just kept on running)

5. Pickett - composed and angry. scary stuff.
4. Carroll - murdered his opponent. didn't fluff his kicks. excellent
3. Bruce - lovely finishing skills
2. Miller - good job on Miller. also angry. love it.
1. Whelan - that sheppard was gold.
Stiff to miss out were Rivers, McDonland and Davey. Even White did well in the ruck.
I loved seeing us go mental with tackles, shepards and bumps.

Carroll was on O'Loughlin wasn't he? I completely forgot who his opponent was, which means he obviously played well. Stiff not to get my votes.

5. Pickett - inspired the team when we needed it
4. Bruce - could this be the year he can consistently produce his best?
3. Miller - had the high profile task of taking Hall and beat him comfortably
2. Carrol - Michael who? Intimidated O'Loughlin with his moustache!
1. Rivers - the backline is knitted together so much better when he plays. 50m against him was a disgrace.
Kudos to the rest of the team too. No passengers today. Everyone worked hard, even the ones who didn't play so good. All you can ask of 'em I reckon.
I'm suprised only one person (melbournemartin) has mentioned Aaron.
5. Bruce (Just keep it coming Brucey, and stay away from Guerra in rd.8)
4. Pickett (My adopt-a-player. Couldn't be much happier with the new addition to my family)
3. Miller (Frustrated Barry all day today. I'm happy that he played where he did, contrary to what I may've said during the week. I just dont wanna see it again)
2. Rivers (One word. Structure.)
1. Davey (Scared the feces out of the Swans today with his oh-so-usual, and oh-so-graceful chasing. Played well forward, back, and middle)
As klyntonius said, no passengers today, maybe with the exception of the man who is fast becoming this board's favourite demon. Simon Godfrey.
Also, must acknowledge the work the fit 19 guys did today for 3 quarters. Its tough enough to win when you're 0-3 playing Sydney in Sydney, but to do it without Neitz, Brocky, and PJ for 3 quarters is a huge effort. I think playing on a small ground would've had to have helped conserve some energy, but nevertheless, a very well-earned victory
Great game dees.

Warnock did nothing and should be an automatic swap for Moloney next week if fit and then Bate for Neitz. Hopefully PJ, McLean and Davey are all fine.

My first impressions from the injuries was that PJ could be in real trouble, he couldn't use his shoulder after a heavy collision and I really hope it's not a reconstruction case.
Not sure what McLean did but if it is related to his OP he may have some time out. By Neitz's body language I think he could have a few weeks on the sidelines.
If all 3 don't play next week the major problem there is will be whether the selection panel see the light and get rid of Godfrey after already making 3 forced changes. Hopefully one or 2 of them turn out to be fine.

5- Pickett- amazing at finding space and he was hard at it too
4- Bruce- great game
3- Miller- great job on Hall, although I want him forward
2- Davey- added some spark, what a goal that was!
1- Whelan- nice work down back, good in close too.
Brown was good too. Rivers is great to have back and Carrol's game was good too apart from that festy clearance in the 4th.

In summary, a pretty good team effort, with Bruce the matchwinner. The defence was great in the way they supported each other, numerous times having a 3rd man up against Hall, which made Miller look a lot better then he was (he was still good though).

How has no-one given a vote to Macca yet?, he was outstanding.
5. Pickett - Superb, more of that please Byron.
4. McDonald - Lots of the ball and used it fairly well
3. Bruce - All Class, easily our best overall so far this year.
2. Miller - Great job on Hall
1. White - Finally has a good game, well done.
Great job all-round.

Special mention to Paul Johnson, best game for the club before going off injured. Looked like a man possessed in the third quarter!
And who said it would be Bate for Neitz next week? Idiocy! Dutchy will come straight into the side for Neitz.
