You're missing Bernie Quinlan who was before my time but watching the replays was only shaded by Carey and no other.

Just thought i'd add that.

Some very fine players in that lot, but you can't possibly go past Carey.

Kelvin Templeton....won a Brownlow as a CHF.

Wayne Carey....could have won a Brownlow, but loved to backchat the umps.

Chris Grant....should have won a Brownlow, but Ian Collins though he was God and overuled 3 field umpires, 2 boundary umpires and 2 goal umpires.

Carey, but Brown may be better by the time he retires, he's still only 24

Look up what Duck had achieved by the time he was 24.

Doesn't matter because Jacko would have beaten all of them .

Before the knee went. Afterwards he was just great.

Carey quite easily.
Quinlan and Templeton are a bit before the modern era.
I think by the nominations the era was early 90s onwards.

Carey. Roughly 35% of people who have voted are obviously new to the game.

Yes, but his longevity in the game suffered not long afterwards, if Brown can continue his improvement until he's 30 then he has the potential to be better. There aren't many others in the game that you can say that about.

From memory Bernie played down back at Footscray , only a year or two at CHF at Fitzroy before kicking all those goals as a FF at the end of his career so I would call him a FF more than a CHF.

If the modern era begins with the expansion then the Duck has no one close to him . Royce Hart and Barrie Robran would be up there with him if you included the previous era.

If Wayne Carey is the greatest CHF of the Modern Era... the modern era which is considered professional, elite, etc... therefore, should Carey be considered the best CHF of ALL-TIME?

There was a 'team of the century', named in 1996 I believe. Carey played on further obviously, including some of his best football. Should he be in the best team of all-time?

There have been reports in the media lately that Jonathon Brown could be up there with the all time CHF greats of the modern era, and it came from someone reputable... either Carey or Brereton.

How do you think Brown's season so far has affected his career repuation? I think for the better, as he has been dominating and kicking some big bags of goals.

Riewoldt...:)

This is a poll on best Centre-Half-Forwards not glorified Half-Forward-Flankers! As for Garry Lyon surely he has to be the best Centre-Half-Forward to get a ride off, no wonder the poor bastard had a bad back with players taking hangers over him every game!
