take 4 marks and kick a goal a game and youll be a big chance to get rookie listed as a certain player did in last years draft
Nothin against the player who got picked up good luck to him but this info could put a positive perspective in the minds of these young kids to make it

Hey Jimmy, how do you figure that? I know some kids who have been in the talented player pathway for 4 years now, put their whole "teenage" social life on hold, eaten correctly, put in the "effort" of pre season and generally taking the whole thing very seriously in the hope they are going to get drafted, yet are still let down at the end of the day. I don't think 4 Marks and one goal a game is all it takes. Realistically any kid playing TAC Cup, with the right coaching and development when they do get drafted, could make it in the AFL, but getting there is another thing. How does a kid get noticed apart from being a stand out player?

It doesn't matter if you have height, pace, skill or guts.
The only thing that matters is luck.
Every player that gets drafted and most players that doesn't get drafted do the hard yards, miss the social life, have great skills, kick a zillion goals, etc etc................
But on draft day it depends on being good enough to have an AFL recruiter recognise that you fit the bill for a vacancy in his team and then the luck to actually be picked.
The TAC CUP is not about getting kids drafted, despite how Kevin Sheehan conducts his own selfish campaign, it is about developing the selected talented players to become the best footballers that they can be. Sheehans campaign of only talking about the draft lets down 95% of the players who do the hard work and don't get drafted. Lots of these guys go on to become local and regional footy heroes in their own right.
This naturally means that about 5% will get drafted but those that miss out have become much better footballers and men, than their mates that didn't get the TAC CUP opportunity and who stayed at their local clubs.
So there you go, all the kid needs after all his hard work is LOTS OF LUCK.
