WOAH!
I have seen like 1003489388579486 threads about how bad our players played.
How about we stop talking about it now.
I am sure Mark Thompson is going to tell them all how crap they are, but that isn't going to help us win games.
We need to stop and concentrate on the positives, because I hate the way us supporters bag our players out when they aren't winning and then praise them when they are winnning. I know you need to let your frustrations out but please no more, because we look like a bunch of whingers.
agree totally... some of the posts have been total knee-jerk reactions :thumbsd:

Hey I don't mind venting out frustrations, but is it needed in every single thread. 1 thread is fine. If supporters from other teams came in here and saw how much we were bagging our players they would think we weren't very good supporters now would they?

When Geelong loses two games in a row, its never going to go down well. Geelong is a highly skilled team, and in the top half of that AFL. We shouldnt be losing games, and definatly not be 2-2

I don't care what other supporters think. I don't care what other Geelong supporters think. I've just watched Geelong lose 2 games they should not have lost. Last year I heavily criticised the team for losing to Fremantle and the entire tone of this board was "calm down, it's only one loss, nothing serious" blah blah blah. Of course the players responded by losing in even worse fashion to Collingwood. Those 2 games meant the difference between finishing 4th and 6th. And these two may turn out exactly the same.
There is no excuse for losing. Ever. I'll stop bagging them when they start winning.

Are those who are already at panic stations the same people who leave a game before the siren has blown? I hate those people, no matter who they support.

I saw a heap of Bulldogs supporters leave early when Geelong kicked a goal and got about 8pts up halfway [if that] through the last qtr.Very odd.

i agree with Partridge... Losses like the last 2 rounds are simply unacceptable and ultimately they could cost us a top 4 spot. I'm not hitting the panic button but just sitting there going 'oh its still early' is equal to putting your head in the sand. If you just accept crap efforts then crap efforts are all you're going to get.

Strongly agree.
Those two matches were a disgrace. The difference between then and now is that Bomber isn't making excuses for the team anymore and either should we.
If we expect to be a premiership chance then we shouldn't be happy with rubbish displays of football like the last two weeks.

We are not a side that will finish top or even top 2. We will be around 3-5. We did better than I thought we would on saturday with who we had out. The eagles and the crows will finish 1 and 2 and we have to hope to beat one of them away in a final. I am confident of beating Sydney this week, melbourne the week after and that will set up a big clash with the saints, who we will be competing with and the bulldogs for 3rd, 4th and 5th spot.

You should see Cats Claw.
Some of them are suggesting Ling's career is over.
And as for Johnno, S......

Johnno has been this way all along.
I would like to see Ling play in defence. This week on O'Keefe, the week after on Robertson and Hamill the week after that. Swap roles with Rooke from last year.

In all fairness Champ39...no one would be on this forum if it wasn't for fans posting their thoughts on player and team performances.
All anyone wants is the team to suceed and that hasn't happened in a long time down at GFC so I can understand the frustrations of fellow supporters after 2 losses that should have been 8 points.
There weren't any positves in the Hawks game!!

Sure, it's not panic stations yet, but it's bloody frustrating to see the team squander the momentum they had from the NAB and the first two rounds to lose two very winnable games. Of course, the Hawthorn game was a total aberration, and inexcusable. The footscray game was just downright heartbreaking, which makes it even more frustrating to know that we had every chance to make amends for the Hawthorn game and go to 3-1, and fell desperately short. It just :D:D:D:Ds ya.
This week is going to be a test, make no mistake, and just you wait how nasty things get if we're 2-3 and under all sorts of pressure.
Alas, these are the things us Geelong fans must live with....:thumbsd:
Some supporters need to learn the difference between a critical analysis of a loss, and straight-out character assassination.
It's one thing to say 'OK, we've lost two games, maybe we need to change some things', and another to suggest that players should be dropped forever or have no ticker.
The players being mercilessly bagged are generally inexperienced and need some time to develop. As supporters, we shouldn't expect miracles. We should expect professionalism, a commitment to the game plan and that the players give their all each week. If that doesn't happen, then we have a right to expect penalty, such as a sepll in the twos.
But we don't have the right to slander a bloke just because we didn't like some of his decision-making, or because his skills weren't 100%.
We need to make a couple of changes to the team that lost at the weekend. Blind Freddy could see it wasn't our best possible side.
But some of the vitriol spewed onto these pages in the past few days has made me wonder if many of my fellow Geelong supporters are as true to the cause, as loyal to the players and intelligent about the game as I've always thought they were.

Here here... if Geelong win the next two or more then I would assume all will be forgiven. Vent your frustration, definately but always remember why you're a supporter of any football club... it's because you love it unconditionally and because whether it's a flag or just the sheer enjoyment of the game, it gives a lot more back than you ever need to put in.
Johnno has been this way all along.

Jack, I think you are right about Ling being able to play in defence, but I think you have got your match ups wrong. Robbo is way to quick off the mark, and both Robbo and Hamill are to good in the air.
Ling is more suited to playing on a resting midfielder. i.e Bruce and Green.

Get real
These boards are built on knee jerk reactions....and there are a hell of a lot of Jerks in Big Footy.
If our boys play like crap they are going to cop it. Always have Always will. Ling deserves to cop a load as does SJ and some of the others. If they dont do what they are there for then get out.
Jack has a bit of a point with Ling into a defensive role for a few weeks. It might make him think a bit more but, the biggest problem is he drops a handball at the feet of our runners causing a turnover and it will only hurt us in the back line

Play Ling forward, not back, if you must switch him out of the midfield.
Ling v. Burton was ugly ugly ugly.
He is not a defender.

Problem is that The cats have a lifelong history of screwing up the ones they should win...Remember the HAwks game.
But we don't have the right to slander a bloke just because we didn't like some of his decision-making, or because his skills weren't 100%.
When else are you going to bag him...Decision making will cost you a game. skills well not so much but if you screw up the choice to run or hand ball , go for a glory goal or go to a person in a better spot, the you deserve to flack.
We need to make a couple of changes to the team that lost at the weekend. Blind Freddy could see it wasn't our best possible side. IT was not our best side by far but again we lost a game we should have put away. Without our best players we threw away 4 points. The word o these boards recently was depth, well that depth should have got us over the line.
...some of the vitriol spewed onto these pages in the past few days has made me wonder if many of my fellow Geelong supporters are as true to the cause, as loyal to the players and intelligent about the game as I've always thought they were.
The vitriol spewed here is from Out and out Cat fans bleeding because we care what happens and dont want to put up with the shyte from other fellow cats supporters with the eternal ...."they gave their best, guess we were not good enough" " we will do beter next time" poison that has been around the club for ever.
So let's be like Richmond supporters and gain a reputation for eating our own, shall we?
Not suggesting we take second best. I believe we need to drop blokes who don't do the job well enough. I believe Johnson needs a spell for selfishness at the moment (and there's been plenty of debate elsewhere about that bit, so no need to continue it here).
But terms like "never play for this club again", "bunch of idiots" and "useless" - as have been used in various threads on this board this week - are just counterproductive. We shouldn't settle for second best; from our players, or in our behaviour as a collective fan base.

No one will ever be like bitchand moan supporters.
those terms will always come out in fanatical supporters, I have said it for years especially ones about getting rid of duds...eg the great Bargearse, Ray hall, the Sphincter, etc. You can not love all 38 + rookies on the list it would be no fun at all.
You have to pick a player to Bag and slander as when the team is getting thumped you can take you abuse out on him eg Jack and his love for Big H and the rest of us against Charlie.
the terms "never play for this club again", "bunch of idiots" and "useless" are always going to get used by some of the school kiddies here so the rest of us need to be more creative.
