Quick one again this week

Shannon Hurn - Brilliant, only got 25 possessions but the way he did it was spectacular, kicked a great goal, one contest he outmuscled 4 Claremont players at once to take a mark and roost it 60m, great natural talent, failed to run out the game once again, lacks match fitness and a bit of speed, great thing is i see huge room for improvement even though he is still playing so well, good signs

Ashley Thornton - All he has is speed, hopeless at everything else, wont make it

Ben Sharp - Another superb performance, got a huge amount of clearances, 21 possessions but if he wants to make it at AFL level has to be more accountable, really pushing to be promoted onto the senior list atm and wudnt be surprised if it happens within the next week or two

Mark Le Cras - Good, but yet again wasteful, needs a lesson in decision making really, looks really composed, I think he will find his niche in the forward line he looks much more comfortable there then in the middle

Josh Wooden - Best game for a while in a team that dominated, got bout 28 possessions and used the ball very well for a change

Matt Priddis - One of his more disappointing games, probably worst game hes played in 2-3 years and still got 20 odd possessions.

Mitch Morton - Played a bit, looked very promising, very fast for his height, but got a knock on the shoulder and sat out the last half of the game.

Ben McKinley - Kicked a goal, but spent ample time on the bench when he was on he did some good things but definetly is carrying a injury, I think the club is givin him a chance to play through it, dont want another one of your draftees out like Spangher is atm

Travis Gaspar - Had nothing to do in defence, ball was in his forward line 90% off the game, he did kick a goal however and pretty much spent rest of time sitting in the goal square with a few East Fremantle youngens

Thats it, Perth had the bye and Gardiner will be back next week as will Butler which is good to see.

Josh Wooden - Best game for a while in a team that dominated, got but 30 possessions and used the ball very well for a change

What was his role? Defence or midfield? I would love to see Josh Wooden in an Eagles jumper just a few more times...

Was at the claremont game and Hurn was simply superb!

Mitch didnt do much but thats to be expected after coming back form injury and also suffering a knock to his shoulder during the game.

Ash Thornton has pace thats for sure but i agree everything else is looking very very poor and i can see a delisting coming his way at seasons end.

Living in Brisbane I have no chance to know how our younger brigade are doing, so I appreciate these reports. Thanks.

These reports are cool. Do you go to every WAFL game each week? Is that even possible?

Ben McKinley - Cant judge, his team got flogged and only kicked 2 goals, ball just never got near him, sad that hes playing in such a ordinary team.

.

McKinley plays for East Perth, they kicked 11 goals.

It was East Fremantle that Kicked 2.

How did Gaspar manage to play on McKinley? They didn't play each other!?

How do you manage to see all games, or do you just go on what is in the paper?
# you just answered it as I was writing this.

Can't agree with this assessment. I was at the game and thought that he did well. Kicked a goal in the first minute of the game, had 14 or 15 possessions and worked hard all day. Admittedly it must be hard playing in such a sh#t team, but plenty of players have to do it. Given time, I think this kid will star. Word is that he's playing with OP at the moment so we can't expect to see him in full flight until he overcomes that. If he continues to play as well each week as he did on the weekend, I think the Eagles will be well-pleased with him.

In the middle, he never plays defence in the WAFL, all players tend to play in the middle to maintain a high level of match fitness. Thats why Le Cras plays there even tho he wont make it as a full time midfielder rather a forward flanker.

Cant see him getting a gig, he still has problems with those hamstrings of those and isnt performing better then the likes of Armstrong Le Cras or Hurn atm

Hurn played very well on the weekend. Once again I was amazed at how AFL ready he seems. Such a long kick and large build is rare.
