Play Fair

While I agree that both Lonergan and Ablett needed to be dropped we're going to struggle to find a target in our forward line. At least with Scarlo back we should be able to throw Mooney or even Milburn forward at different stages.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Nath get one more week.
Maybe his team mates could try kicking it to him next time.

But we have the mighty GARDINER!!

Glad Prismall's in.
And thank God they came to their senses and brought Blake in, so we can have Ottens and Mooney up forward at some point.
Would have been good to see Nath get another game though.

Im going to go one further, and not even dignify it with an answer!
Hmm i was wondering, for every good game he plays, is it an extra 5 he gets to play?

Gardiner had to come in over N.Ablett...

Hmm... two "key" forwards out and Gardiner in.
Blake in as well must mean Ottens out of the goalsquare. Puzzling considering how well Ottens did in the ruck.
Scarlett back, Mooney forward.
Byrnes stiff?
Prismall - ABOUT TIME!

Blakes last chance this year for me - if he can't beat or break even against Chambers he is gone....

They don't need Ottens to ruck against Unco.

I actually think we shouldn't have dropped Dog. I really don't. Can't be bothered explaning why.

Some would have said we didn't need him to ruck against Street last week. Pako more than held his own when Ottens moved out of the ruck.
Never underestimate the point to be proved by a player against his former club.

I half agree with you. Dog getting 25+ possessions in the reserves, kicking 5 goals and being recalled next week would be pretty short odds.
That said, I don't disagree with Bomber's intentions here.
In the long run though, Dog will prove his worth.

nah, there's no point to be proven there. Chambers walked, he wasn't pushed.

And West, even though he probably isn't ready, he's still an AFL listed player.

I think out of those 4, playfair is the most important.

I know what you mean but he would feel he has something to prove - i.e. "hey, you should have kept me, check this out".
Still, that's not to say I'm worried about Unco being unleashed!

Better bloody hope they win this weekend ;)
I'm actually not sure about bringing Gardiner back so soon. That said, he did perform last week, and neither of Ablett or Lonners did, but I would still liked to have seen him consolidate his form in the hopes that he might come to the seniors in some consistent touch. I guess we'll see how he goes.
Blake in is good. Ottens up forward will help out a lot. Hope KK will be right for Melbourne.

It's great to see Prismall finally get his chance. 20 possies and 3 goals coming up :)
I have the dilemma of driving down to Hobart to watch the VFL (2.5 hours each way, probably $50 petrol) or watching it on tv on an hour delay.
I'd go if they'd guarantee Varcoe, Harley and Riccardi were playing.

What I would love to see is Johnson perform like that in the seconds, but they still keep him there for another week. That might get the message through his peanut sized brain.

I know what you mean but it probably really depends how we fare against Sydney. If we win he might get another week in the VFL but if we're clearly lacking some spark and/or we lose, then he'd probably come back in.

It will be closer than people think. Tassie have Kangaroo players now. Blokes like Callinan and Beams are better footballers than Byrnes and Mackie (VFL level) and Geelong are taking in a lot of underdone players.

If undone players such as playfair, harley, ricco, etc perform well in the vfl this week it'll be an interesting week at the selection table next week.

I wouldn't want Harley to come in to the seniors after just the one match (which might only be a half or a bit over) in the VFL, unless something drastic happens like an injury/suspension to Egan or Scarlett.
