A dashing 74 off 69 balls to guide Australia to an easy win.

Consisting of 7 fours and 2 sixes.

This man is the next big thing - not only in weight!

Cossie, Cossie, Cossie, Oi, Oi, Oi!

I Love Cosgrove. I am MAN enough to say that. He is the new messiah of International cricket. Best young man I've seen since I saw Bradman hitting golf balls against my rainwater tank in 1910.

How scary will it be when Cosgrove and Gilchrist open together? Exciting times lay ahead. Plus he is a gun bowler.

The next World Cup is a formality.

Under normal circumstances I agree, but you are forgetting that the selectors are on drugs... Anything could happen.

Still it was a very nice effort by cosi.

Unlike someone who is being targeted for his weight overseas, this one has talent and he made batting look very easy today. Lets hope this is not a token selection and Cosgrove has more games than this.

Cosgrove is a gun, and now the whole country can see that, not just here in SA. Absolute class. I dont give a f*ck how big he is, just means he can get more power behind that swing. Still has 15 years hopefully at top level. Enough for at least 10,000 test runs :) :thumbsu:

Looked like a left handed Greg Ritchie standing at the crease .

I am not saying he played like Fat Cat just looked like him .

I couldn't agree more. If Katich hadn't stayed in there was every chance of us losing 9 for 42.

I have never once underrated ANYONE's performance against Bangladesh due to the quality of the opposition. Not once.

Jokes are much better when people actually know what you are talking about.

Take it from me; the funniest member on the site without a doubt*.

*waits for someone to quote above line and declare "That's pretty funny".

ffs it was against bangladesh chasing a small total, half the posters on this site would have got 50. it was not difficult out there. dont get me wrong, did what he had to do, looked good but lets not get carried away, batting isnt all about hitting 4s and 6's, is he quick between wickets, putting pressure on fielders and the like? thats where weight becomes an issue, doesnt matter chasing 120 against the bangers but in a world cup semi chasing 260, could be an issue.

We've had plenty of one day players who aren't that quick between the wickets. If they're playing, they're quick enough.

Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year.

He got the job done, I don't see why you need to take anything away from him. He is the future of Australian cricket.

Cosgrove > Any young batting talent coming up. He can also bowl some pretty handy overs.

With all the training I don't see how you can be fat. And each time you score a hundred, you're bound to lose a couple of kgs.

He must have a serious addiction to junk food or have the metabolism of a hibernating polar bear. Does anyone know if he drinks much?

Who would have thought "chunkylover" would be having a go at his Cosgrove's weight.

Yeah but in a world cup semi chasing 260 he will just slog 6s on the tiny caribbean grounds, no need to run.

Stop being a cossie hater you jealous little fiends.

Correct. Then with Gilly and Lee and probably Symonds in there, there won't be much need to run.

Yes. He's got big bones. I know.

Or it's a gland problem .

Unfortunately there are always two batsmen at any one time and unless they both only smash boundaries he will need to run some singles , twos and threes , I know which end I would be throwing the ball at every time they set off for a run .

If he has a period where he doesn't perform the critics will drum up a storm about his weight and then we will see if the pressure gets to him. The Ians Healy & Botham spring to mind as both have a history of being "insensitive" about other players weight problem .
