The Twenty20 world cup will be played in South Africa in September 2007. All countries (including India) have agreed to send teams to the tournement.

Australia should send Australia A

How many matches are played in a day? Over how many days is the tournament?

i'm led to believe it's a 9 day tournament.

This would be great news if it wasn't called a world cup. Maybe they should have just replaced the Champions Trophey with a 20/20 Champions cup? makes more sense than having a 20/20 and a 50 over world cup.

Yes. Good point. If it was called something else, then people could make what they want of it. Calling it a World Cup when no one really cares that much, cheapens the 50 over version.

I think we should send an Australian A team. Give the youngsters some experience.

It's a bit soon isn't it? Twenty20 is barely off the ground.

Exactly, but the ICC are determined to have an ICC event every bloody year. In their eyes the most four most important competitions will be the 50/50 and 20/20 World Cups, the Champions Trophy and the ICC Super Series.

The Ashes can probably get f*cked because India don't play in it.
