NICK THE PIE MAN

Dizzy was ruled out of the Boxing Day Test with a shoulder injury. Bichel is almost certain to take his place, and another replacement has yet to be named.
That's a big blow IMHO.
The replacement is Brad Williams.
Gillespie's injury is apparently not that serious, yet to say if it will rule him out of anything after the Boxing Day test, but it's believed not.

They just showed Williams on the news with his family, looking fairly pleased he's been selected in the 12. I still think Bichel will get the nod ahead of Williams, although his bowling on Sunday was very impressive!
im pretty sure Williams will be 12th man
Bichels the man to replace Gillespie from all reports

Yes JubJub, there certainly will be a lot of hard & farrrst orgasms from Tony Greig if Williams plays (or even if he doesn't). Can't work out why the Proteas are discussing dropping Kluesner (who can bat & took wickets) before Nitini for Donald/Elworthy, unless it is a political decision.
It now looks like Gillespie is more likely than not to miss the Sydney test.

Klusener is sparingly used as a bowler these days, and his batting is all at sea aginst spin. I don't agree with dropping him, as it's always good to have any player who is capable at both facets, but form is against him.
Dippenaar looked lost in the Adelaide test, especially against short-pitched stuff, but his form in the recent match vs NSW will ensure he retains his place. Bit of a shame as I was looking forward to seing another leftie in Rudolph get a chance.

Very disappointing indeed...his spell in the 2nd innings last year against the Windies in Melbourne was quite possibly some of the best fast bowling I have ever seen...particularly the over that saw Lara bowled - the delivery was unplayable.
As for Bichel, he deserves a go, he bowled very well last year, although it's a lot easier bowling to the Windies than to the Proteas.

Darky - Having spent the full five days at the Adelaide Test, I would have to agree that Kluesner is struggling a bit with his batting (ie. Warney) - but it is still better than Dippenaar (who as you correctly pointed out should be replaced by Jacques Rudolph). However, Kluesner was OK with the ball - certainly ahead of Nitini, who I would look at dropping for Donald or Elworthy.
GOALden - As a South Aussie I am disappointed Dizzy is missing again, but he was either not 100% fit in Adelaide or the nerves got to him (as opposed to the smelling salts for Lee). He may not get another go this series with McGill likely to play in Sydney. However, Bichel hasn't done much wrong in the past & deserves another go - may even edge out Lee for Sydney if he performs really well.

I wish they would bite the bullet and choose another fast bowler besides Bichel. Bichel is not up to test standard - simple as that.
IMO Bichel and Kasprowicz should never play for Australia again, they aren't good enough.
Bring Williams into the 11, or even Nicholson for that matter, or some other promising quickie, but not bic or caspar.
thats bad since dizzy was a good fast bowler
