View Full Version : Ferris Beullers Day Off
Just letting people know that FINALLY a special edition of this brilliant, classic 80s movie, has been released!!
Apparantly it's got great extra features, including a reunion/ interview of the original cast (excluding Ferris' girlfriend).
One to look out for in the shops! :thumbsu:

Bueller...Bueller...Bueller...
Used to play basketball against this unco bloke who was the spitting image of Mr. Rooney.
Everytime he stuffed up, which was often, some smart-ar$e would yell:
"Rooney - you're an a$$ehole!"
Poor b@st@rd had no idea what we were on about - obviously wasn't a Ferris fan - and would get quite annoyed after getting a triple-double in airballs, turnovers and fouls...

If you take 7,936 add 12,000 and then divide that by 108 subtract 150.35 add .07528 and add another .69 subtract 4.77 and add .763 you are left with my approximate age... give or take a couple of months.

just went back and re-read the thread and i think you may be on to something there.
It's still a great movie, even 20 years after it was made.I watched it again about a month ago.
Boy in Police Station [Charlie Sheen]: There's someone you should talk to.
Jeannie: If you say Ferris Bueller, you lose a testicle.
Boy in Police Station: Oh, you know him?

Apparently, but I dont act it :p
One of my favourite 80's films. Got it yesterday from JB's for under $20.00. Great value. I've only seen the cast interviews so far. They interview everyone in the film, including the waiter at the diner, and Kristy Swanson (the original and best Vampire Slayer), except for Charlie Sheen. The interview of Mia Sara was from 1985/86.

When it's shown on Foxtel they actually advertise it as "starring Charlie Sheen".He's in it for less than 2 minutes.

Cool, cant wait to get it!
I knew i was doing the right thing holding off buying that other release of it with absolutely no extras on it! It's a brilliant movie and i know most of it off by heart (most of it)..
Some of my fav quotes..
"it could get wrecked, stolen, breathed on, a bird could sh-it on it!"
"i could be the Walrus, it still wouldnt change the fact that i dont own a car"
"when your bent over moaning and wailing, lick you palms. It's childish, but hey, so's high school"
And of course, every scene Edward Rooney was in.
:D :D :D

Yeah i know (actually did you know, Anthony Hopkins was only on screen for something like 17 minutes and won best actor for SOTL.. something like that.. i read it on a fantale wrapper)..
But Charlies sooo good in it! His character is, yeah only in it for a couple of minutes, but you do remember his character.
Doesnt deserve a "starring" role but i guess! Maybe Foxtel was desperate.

"It's time to take a stand!"
Love watching Bueller and John Hughes films as they remind me of my teenage years when I lived in Chicago.

Some of my fav movies are based in Chi-town! Ferris, National Lampoons (well the family is from there), Blues Brothers...
Chicago is my absolute fav city, other than Melbourne.
You killed the car.Classic movie!!

"John Lennon once said 'I DON'T BELIEVE IN THE BEATLES, I JUST BELIEVE IN ME." Pretty good point there. He was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus but that'd still mean I'd have to bum rides offa people."
Best. Movie. Ever.
To this day I still use Ferris Bueller quotes in my life.
Honda have done an ad for the Super Bowl with Matthew Brodrick spoofing his Ferris Bueller character

Maybe all the talk about the ad will inspire some people to do a decent sequel for it.
Haha that ad is golden. :D

Awesome ad.
Loved hearing 'Oh Yeah' by Yello again. I believe it was originally a gay club hit and all, but it's a cool piece of music and was well suited to FBDO and I think it was in Secret of My Success as well.

I might have to grab this, loved this film growing up.
They were talking about it the other day on the radio saying they never released a sound track as they thought the music wasn't main stream enough to warrant it.
It ended up having some big songs.
( Baseball game on the tele )
ROONEY - Whats the score ??
BARMAN - nuthin nuthin..
ROONEY - ....oh yeah ? , who's winnin ????

That final scene with Mr Rooney getting a lift on the school bus , might have left a lasting temptation on him.
