Yeah they did that at the 'gabba this year when I went one day. The umps got a lot of abuse and boos when they went off. We were not happy after already missing 1 and a half hours!

Well I'm back...what a disappointing day.

May I first say a big F**K YOU to the Bureau of Meterology - who claimed it would be mostly fine with 'occasional' clearing showers. Some of the downpours were clearly heavier than showers - some of us were musing that the ACB had paid them to tell everyone to turn up.

The most frustrating part of the whole day was the hour lost due to the lunch and tea breaks - both taken in fine weather. The tea break was even more ridiculous as for some unexplained reason the umpires DELAYED taking tea for ten minutes, despite no rain having fallen for over an hour.

B2001, Fat Red and I had a good day anyway, but some cricket would have been nice - it was like been at the footy it was that cold!

Apart from Hayden's catch and the slip cordon imitating Warnie warming up very little to get enthused about. Although Australia did bowl very well.

Hopefully better weather tomorrow I guess - they are saying clearing, so who knows what that means.

I could not believe they went off for lunch at 1PM. It was fine throughout the lunch break and then within two overs they go off because of the rain. Surely some rule change can take place.

I heard that Kallis was dropped twice i didn't see the chances were they hard ones or not?

If you were Boeta Dippenaar you would feel a little unlucky twice you've been dissmissed by sensational catches. Ponting in Adelaide then Hayden in Melbourne.

worst part of the day was the first ball of the 26th over when the acb said thank you we'll keep all of your m oney.

Of course, its great cricket weather in Adelaide at the moment.....maybe the two cities could swap tests for a year.

In any case, its pretty funny that Australia's premier sporting arena gets rained out so often :D

I am still trying to work out if I should go today or not. I don't think it will rain for an hour and a half from now at least, but after that, it is anyones guess.

Its a ridiculous joke that this happens every year

Adelaide losy its traditional test match on Australia day so why should the Boxing Day test match be inviolate?

Play the Boxing Day test Match at the Gabba or the Adelaide Oval and at least we will get to see some cricket.

Melbourne test match should be played in Mid January -early Feb to stand some chance of some decent weather.

The irony is ... Melbourne is having all this rain ... and NSW and the ACT are experiencing severe bushfires and there looks to be no relief on the horizon.

Melbourne hasn't had a hot summers day ... and we're a month into summer.

Kollis has just got an absolute shocker of a decision!

There was daylight between the bat and the ball, I think the umpire was deceived by the ball swinging late after it passed the bat.

Least it wasn't Daryl Hair who gave the decision...

Of course it only ever rains in Melbourne.
