Sounds like to me that he still thought he was batting on the Wanderers pitch where the world record was scored a couple of months back having a 100 strike rate in test cricket when runs were hard to come by and the ball was swinging both ways. Typical of him to be out of step with the rest of the players.:) Dippenaar apparently went second ball of the innings without offering a stroke, he must have thought he was Gibbs. And Kallis cleaned bowled again.

Given his penchant for quick scoring, it's mystifying for me why he's not dropped down the order. He could be a dangerous stroke-player in the middle order. Is it time for Kallis to move up to #3 and them to find another partner for Boeta Dippenaar?

And he followed it up with a quickfire 68 in the second dig to lead RSA home after they stuttered. It's a worry that guys like AB went cheaply again when they needed a win. Pollock and Prince saw them home by 4 wickets. Smith got the man of the match award.

Two fifties in two innings, where's the real Graeme Smith?

And not only that, the two highest scores in a low scoring match because of bowler-friendly pitch. And he had to face the new ball. You do wonder where is the old Smith who used to get out in the 20's or 30's after a start.
