Wouldn't it make more sense to play the 'Deshers entire test series at the same venue over one long weekend?

i constantly wonder how Bangladesh was granted test status, and especially before that honour was granted to Kenya.

I can't wait till Sweden is given test status so i can visit and improve my ornithological interests :-)

ps. off topic, but matty hayden's got 1305 calendar runs so far which puts him at about 7 or so on the all time list. Another 80 or so runs in the test and it will be the 3rd best calendar year IN HISTORY by any cricketer.

I think the plan is to bring them out during winter and play at venues like Darwin and Cairns and Alice Springs where the weather will be hot. They have to host them because of the agreement with the ICC where all nations have to play each other every 4 years at both home and away.

Well Dogboy, I have just done the ACB's job :) All we are waiting for is the ICC to say yup. :)

Well you ahve to start somewhere dont you. What have Zimbabwe done since they were granted Test status?? Not a whole much, but they have improved 200% What about Sri Lanka?? They were easy beats for 20 years before they became the new super power in the mid 90s. New Zealand did nothing when they were granted test status either. India took a number of years and a number of series to become competitive against anyone other than Pakistan.

You gotta start somewhere!

They were talking about it on Ch9 or ABC Radio (i forget which) about the fact that it could take a "generation" before the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe become competitive! :)

You could play Bangledesh twice in one day, beat them twice, and still have time to play a third!!

Ripped off, why didn't you include Deakin Reserve in Shepparton which has a lovely playing surface, good facilities and a capacity of 10,000. or Central Park in Ballarat which played host to a world cup game in 1992.

Also, Mildura, Wangaratta and Broken Hill have great main ovals where you can host international cricket.
