It was one of the incidents of the season last week when Nathan Thompson took himself off the ground in the dying minutes of a close game. Even though he kicked 5 goals in that game, he had critics, and he answered them kicking 8 goals against his old club. His 8 goals came along with 18 touches and 11 marks in the Roos forward line.

The second round pick from the 2004 NAB Draft, Dean Polo finally made his debut after more than 12 months, and did so in fine style. Polo had 11 kicks and 17 handballs, while he kicked 3 goals, including 2 in the final quarter of a match that went down to the wire. Polo follows team-mate Andrew Raines in as this weeks BigFooty Emerging Star.
