Apparently was doing sprints up and down the "G" on Saturday night 45 minutes after the game still in his matchday "kit" after everyone had gone home ....

Any mail filtered out of Windy Hill as to what that was in aid of ?

It's called match simulation. It is standard practice (I presume) at all clubs.

Anyone at Essendon that plays less than 60% of game time has to do extra work (Match Simulations). It's basically a practice that ensures that a player is not losing conditioning by not playing a full game.

It happens every week, but normally the morning following a game or after a day game, that night back at the club. The 45 minutes thing is here nor there. By the time the game finished, the went in and cooled down and had the team meeting 45 minutes is up. The only strange thing about what Winderlich did is that he did it straight after the game at the ground. He is a country boy, so he may well have gone home on Sunday.

Nothing strange and it's been covered several times over during the week.

Had nothing to do with the fact he was told to do it as punishment for not chasing his opponent who scored the point.

I presume that was a statement, but if it was a question, it had absolutely nothing to do with it.

look IDGAF longy knows all, i mean the esssendon officials told the herald sun newspaper that winderlich was doing the extra sprints for match conditioning. I mean would the essenodn offical lie, surely not, so longy must be right and you must be wrong. I mean everytime an esendon playe has the flu he usually has the flu doesn't he, or is that a broken leg i forget which one.

i mean honestly its normal for any player to do extra running sessions 45 minutes after cooling down whislt lactic acid has built up inside your muscles int it. I mean so many players do it, i cant believe it made the papers because so many players do extra match simulation.

maybe next time they will put a ball in his hands to make match simulation actual match simulation, because basically his extra session was the same as what he has done most of his career, running fromone end of the ground with great pace not within coooeee of the ball.

but hey longy just knows, he is this messiah of essendon supporters, like joffa is to collingwood. And if you question him then u must be wrong.

So when Ricky Dyson went back to the club and did the same thing Anzac Day, what was his punishment for?

Like I said, believe what you want.

That isn't true.

I've been happy to admit when I've been wrong. But strictly speak, what we're talking about here, isn't an opinion.

Everything here is an opinion mate no matter how factual the information really is. Not everybody will take one's word as gospel, no point preaching to the uneducated mate.

One way to look at it I guess.

I get the feelings if I started a thread saying James Hird wears number 5, blumfield would disagree and say he wears number 6 just to disagree.

Ah well, makes things entertaining I guess.

All you can do is state what you think, how others take it is up to them.

I thought the tone was to give an inferred sense of higher intelligence without anything factual to back it up , but i can`t argue that because i am guest on this board and respect all Essendon supporters and posters .:thumbsu: .... especially Longy

Sheeds said that Essendon players often do it after a match while they're still warm. Plus it enables them to train on the MCG and it is not often that the MCC will let you train on the MCG grass...

Also mentioned that he'd sent lloyd out to practice goal kicking after a match previously...

yeah i would say that just to bug the sh** out of you, but that would be the only reason and i would have to quote that i was sh** stirring you because obviously i'd be wrong. Other times i have argued against you i have been right, like when i said dont expect much of rama and stop building reynolds up as your love child.

hahahahahahahahaha, i have done that as well when he starts arguing with you he takes quote by quote out of your paragraphs and argues each sentence which sends the point of argument into a different tangent of arguments. I just dont read the garbage that spirals out of bin lid mouth.

and i have never seen longy admit he is wrong.

yeah lloyd was before the match, winderlich was about 30 minutes after the match when he had cooled down, after the coach's spray and after lactic acid would have built up inside his muscles.

u must be a popular man longy, as you have basically two pages dedicated to wheither you admit you're wrong or not.

Anyway although im an in-expierienced poster longy seems to be the poster who is most accurate and forthcoming with information regarding to essendon.

The truth is AFL clubs really have a fairly tight grip on why things are done and keeping things in house. A lot of secrets concerning players, penalties etc that no one on bigfooty has a clue about.

Winders post match probably was just match conditioning and they also menitoned how he didnt chase down oakley nicholls so they simulated similiar exercises.

Like saying "winders you have to do match conditioning anyway, and as you didnt chase down oakley nichols, we may as well simulate sprints through the middle cause you should have chased him down.

I don't think Rama getting cancer again has proven you right. It's an unfortunate event that no one predicted nor expected.

Wrong at Reynolds at the moment, still like to see him have a crack though. Might even see him in the side this week.

If a player requires match simulation after a game should he be in the team? If they are going to pick Winderlich why do they always leave him on the bench for half a game? This is not his first year. He is quick and his has decent disposal. People have questioned his decision making and football brain at AFL level. How is he going to improve his decision making while sitting on the bench? Surely his decision making will improve with experience.

With four on the bench, chances are someone is going to play less than 60% of the game.

But I agree, Winderlich should be getting more game time. In fact he's demanding it by the way he's playing.
