Jackson, Gaspar, Johnson as emergencies. One would think we shall have a number of late withdrawals perhaps

Johnson has lost his spot to Polo :D

I highly doubt it.

Johnson would come in for a Foley, Tambling, Hughes, JON, Krak..

Me thinks Plough is waiting untill the last moment to see how his hammies are.

Why do people want to drop Foley? Always makes a good contribution when on the field. Should be getting more time, not less.

The thing is how do we fit foley into the side, he looks 1 dimensional, not sure if he could play as a small forward or a small back.

Tuck- can play up forward aswell as in the guts

Johnson- Captain so thats a given hes in

Coughlan- havent seen him play anywhere else but on the ball

Deledio- can play forward, back and midfield

Tivendale- on ball, can also play a HFF or HBF

Hyde Can play HFF, HBF and on the wing

Tambling- Can play wing and HFF/FP

Brown - FP and midfield

Polo- HBF, Tagger, On Baller,

Hartigan- Backline/Midfield

Krakouer- FP/On the ball

Just a bit hard to keep him in the side

johnson does not benefit the team enough to be in the 22. His skills are below average. He turns the ball over alot, he can't even handball. He tries hard but he isnt big enough to have grunt. I'd look for a trade at the end of the season. I don't care if he's captain or he barracked for us as a kid. He's taking the spot of a player who is and will be more valuable to our team.

Here here jezza... great call! Thought Foley's efforts are unappreciated. Would be more in kind to give Tambling a run in the magoos.

I'm only new here but jesus,I didn't realise the amount of vitriol that gets directed towards the skipper. Forgive my ignorance, but I thought if you were playing on a Sat arvo (like we are) then the team named on a Thursday night is the team you must play. Any changes introduces a fine. As I said, I'm ignorant in that regard and I can't see KJ and Gaspar not playing to be honest.
As I said in a previous post, Foley has the goods. Keep him in and give him time. Takes three years to develop a kid that doesn't have the natural brilliance of a deledio. Hartigan is a prime example. In his third year in the caper and only just starting to feel like he belongs.

Nah Gas and Johnno are both named as Emergencies so they both could come in without attracting a fine.

FWIW, I think they will both come in.

We don't have many that really like to get down the bottom of a pack and win the ball out for someone else. The two that we've had do it most are Tuck and Cogs, but they can't do it a whole game, so having someone like Foley to relieve them means we shouldn't be losing out to teams when either of those guys isn't on the ball, like we were last year.

Foley is also very useful as a tagger, he's got the discipline to stay with his man and he knows where to be at stoppages. Can't see why JON would stay in the side ahead of Foley, we have a lot more flankers than we do genuine ball winners.

Absolutely agree. I really like what Foley is about. Hard at it, very clever player and is quite constructive with the ball. That sweeping handball last week that set up a running shot on goal was a great example - great vision and decision making under pressure.

IMO Foley will be an integral part of a mid field that can take us to the upper parts of the ladder. He is making the best of limited on field time and i'd like to see him get more of a run.

Plough has said that Gaspar is a genuine emergency, has missed 4 weeks and cannot expect to automatically walk back into the side. He will train today and if he pulls up well will play for Coburg...........................great news and confirms my view he is no longer in our best side.

gaspar being left out might make winning harder (or easier depending on your point of view) one thing definately good about it, it shows that you dont get a game at richmond anymore because of your name and past reputation.:thumbsu:
