Johnson an emergency in the 1s but not named here.

thats because if he is fit he will play with the seniors, and if he is not he wont play at all. he is only named as an emergency because they dont want to drop anyone unless he is right to play.

He played well in defence last week, but don't take the lineups as listed there too seriously, last week Patto was named at FB but played CHF and ruck all game. With Gaspar a possibility and McGuane improving all the time, there may not be a need for Jacko back there.

Am I just looking at stuff through rose-coloured glasses all the time, or is McGuane a definite smokey?haven't seen much of him, but friends who claim to be in the know say he just might make it.

I watched him a couple of weeks ago and he played well against Werribee on a tough opponent, plenty of good reports coming out about him and he seems to be showing improvement each week which is great. Still very raw physically, I was lucky enough to sit next to Luke at the Player Link dinner a couple of weeks ago and he said he's finding it hard to put on weight as they do so much fitness work that it all gets burned off pretty quickly. He seemed very confident that he'll get a shot this year, and if he keeps up the improvement he has shown this year so far then I reckon he will too.

Cheers Jezza. As I've said. I've heard good things about him, mainly from a former recent player who still keeps in contact with the boys at the club.

It was tacky in the middle and a little heavy around the edges. Conditions weren't too bad. A little breeze and a slight shower but not too bad.
Still can't believe they named Pattison. Knobel wasn't too bad, nothing all that exciting, he should of dominated but didn't.

White was pretty good. Ran hard and contested well.
It was a pretty ordinary game though. Coburg were preoccupied with flooding and got caught with no one up forward after quarter time. Dispossal was crap most of the time. Some of these guys have alot of work to do if they hope to play AFL.

Heavy rain right through the reserves. Drizzle for the start of the seniors, bit of wind and cold. Brief bit of sunlight which we actually played well in. But yes tough conditions.

We got a quarter time lead. Fought well in the second quarter before tiring in the last few minutes. We just didn't have the fitness to stay with them. The longer the game went the more we wilted and the more they got on top. In the end an 18 point loss was pretty honorable to a team that should have towelled us up by 10 goals.

Chaffey's BOG in the reserves was in the BP in a team being thumped. Our defenders saw a lot of the ball :o

Can't say anyone impressed in a very scrappy game of stoppages and miskicks. White, Howat and Humm go hard but none looked much more than determined.

Rodan starred in the first quarter. 10-ish touches in the first quarter but probably finished with less than 20 for the entire match. Probably needs more time.

Knobel was beaten in the ruck and around the ground by Cam Cloke and Guy Richards. Cam Cloke close to BOG.

Pattison handy without being impressive. Meyer worked a bit harder than normal and laid some tackles. Limbach quiet at starvation corner in a team that never looked likely to score.

I'd say VFL guys Kuret, Shelton and King were our best. King had a bad last quarter though.

Williamstown were a much better team. We just managed to work hard and keep things tight, ugly and close.

I was at the game and I thought Knobel was very good. He contested hard and was good around the ground. He outpointed Richards and broke even with C Cloke. Only my opinion though

On another matter I was impressed with White. He is very hard at it and will be a good player
