Geelong's last 22 games. Interesting stat. (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=5047626)

Of the last 22 premiership games that Geelong have played our win loss record is :

9 wins
13 losses

Thats a 9-13 record over the last full season (including this year so far and last years finals).

Maybe we are not as good as we think.

Thoughts??

St Kilda's record over the same timeframe is:

14 wins
8 losses

This includes this year so far, finals last year and H&A matches from Rd 8 2005

Our record compares favourably with Geelong's but is not super impressive when you consider we won 9 of ten matches before the prelim loss.

Do you know that somewhere in 2005, St Kilda had won only 10 of its last 28 games.

These type of statistics make me curl. The "last 22" and "last 28", while have a some value, they can get OVERRATED.

Picture us back to 2003, its round 15.. we hadn't won terribly much.. and then we went on to win a few games... no "last 22" pattern there.

This particular Geelong one (and the 10 / 28 one.. ), can we please throw in the bin?
