Had to be done.

Hopefully he'll bounce back very soon, an in form Solly means a lot to us.

Good, was the move that made to be made, and has been needed to be made for so very long.

Been coming for quite a while

Our captain flies to the other side of the world to convince him to stay at the club, and he reciprocates with mediocre, gutless, half-arsed efforts week in week out

needs to have a good look at where he's headed, a shade of his 2000 self

DONT :D:D:D:DEN BELIEVE WE GOT RID OF PAUL THOMAS!!!!!

I wouldn't say it's from lack of effort. Lot's of players can struggle even if they are trying hard.

Our chances have now improved dramatically.

If selection is based on form, rather than tenure, Solly won't be back anytime soon.

hey an in form solly is fantastic to watch, but yes he needed to be dropped, he has become laxadasical in his approach. from 99-2004 he was essendons version of glen archer, i actually thought he had captaincy material about him, especially the way he played in the 99 prelim.

but he has lost the touch and needs to get the hunger back, i dont know maybe the game speed and change of rules have hampered him.

C'mon solly get up there man

hopefully true. its had to happen as he is clearly lacking fitness. i would not even play him at bendigo because he atleast deserves better than that. he needs to just take a break and get his fitness right before he returns. even if it is after the split round.

mark johnson was the other player who is close but did improve last week down back and should play there again this week. maybe just give him the job of eddie betts, which should not be too difficult for him.

also is rioli going to play? i thought his knee would not allow him to play two weeks in a row. if thats the case either ryder or reynolds will come. dont approve of the peverill selection though unless he dominated at bendigo.

That's the biggest load of crap I've read on this board for a long time.
Solly's problem isn't having a crack. He's been giving everything he has. He ran himself into the ground in the first quarter against Richmond.

His attack on the ball and on the man is second to none. Dean Solomon has been giving it everything he has. Unfortunately he doesn't have everything at the moment. He's been making mistakes, bad mistakes, but it's not from a lack of effort.

DONT :D:D:D:DEN BELIEVE WE GOT RID OF PAUL THOMAS!!!!!

He's an ordinary footballer. Wouldn't be getting a game now. Right decision was made.

No confirmation, but IMO I reckon he'll play. Nothing to gain by dropping him this week. No Bendigo, Carlton have the ability to go tall forward, Solly could be handy down back.

Is Rioli fit to play?

DONT :D:D:D:DEN BELIEVE WE GOT RID OF PAUL THOMAS!!!!!

He's been named in our state squad to thrash WA.
BTW, I'm going to see Ben Haynes play today, may be matched up against Bryce Gibbs who, if you believe some on bigfooty is headed our way.
( He nullified Cupido last week too)

You tool :thumbsd:
He may be out of form and has been restricted by injury but his efforts have never been gutless or half arsed. His lack of form last year was purely because he played injured all year and his confidence is down again this year. Yes he did deserve to be dropped becasue his form has been average but to call him gutless just shows how little you actually know about what is going on!

Solomon has gone backwards ever since Richmond showed interest in him.
Something in that I think
