PORT ADELAIDE
B: Pettigrew, Wakelin, S.Burgoyne
HB: Lonie, Bishop, Wilson
C: Cassisi, K.Cornes, Walsh
HF: Dew, Tredrea, Mahoney
F: Motlop, White, Pearce
FOLL: Lade, C.Cornes, P.Burgoyne
I/C: Kingsley, Salopek, Surjan, Thurstans, Ware
IN: Kingsley, Surjan, Thurstans, Wilson
OUT: Chaplin, Shattock, Ebert, Deluca
EM: Ware, Ebert, Deluca

Good to see Kingsley, Surjan and Wilson back in - Thurstans was proberly the best choice for a back up ruck for Lade, Deluca's time will come though. He might even play a bit of back up defence?

Already knew about Chaplin (shock!!!!) and Shattock (Slight shock after one game)! Deluca was a so-so call, sort of shocked about Ebert - most defiently at the old crossroads IMO!

Jarman claimed on 10 news there were up to 6 Port players who could be sent back to the SANFL if we lost on Sunday.

But the only one he named was Salopek, who has been one of the positives out of this season so far, even with Choco not exactly lavishing game time upon him.

From Choco's press conference (http://portadelaidefc.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=265187):

Williams indicated tall forward Toby Thurstans would play as a backman among the Bulldogs' smaller forwards.

"He played particularly well against Sydney but didn't get in the week after," Williams said. "He's been up and down a little bit in form but we think he can do that role. He's old enough and he understands you only get so many chances, and this is one of them."

What worries me is that Thurstans "so many chances" - like a few others - are like that packet of Tim Tams that never runs out. Oh and "up and down a little bit"? Up a little bit, down a lot I'd have thought.

This does smack of last year - the old "you're on your last chance" line. So the senior players produce for a week - sometimes 2 - safe in the knowledge Krakatoa won't erupt for a couple of months, then we go back to relax mode.

What shytes me is that Thurstans hasn't put in any effort at Sturt. His whole attitude to footy is just wrong. Other players get dropped and bust their butts, Thurstans gets dropped then just waits for Choco to drop another kid so he can play again.....

If Toby screws up this weekend, hopefully that will be the last that we see of him out there this season.

Give the young ones that have been busting their guts week after week a spot back in the team. Not someone that is only giving a half hearted effort in the SANFL.

The only logic i can see for Thurstans being included is the hope of him playing a good game and Eade taking a liking to him.
Thurstans for Harris? anyone?:o
