* We have beat the bottom 3 teams, just.
* Had a go against WCE & Saints (top 4 sides)
* Got blown out of the water against the Dogs & Swans.

Conclusion?

Im not sure if its all that terribile, as bad as Rounds 1 & 7 were I think we are on a decent track.

Tuck (24), Cogs (24), Newman (23), Hyde (23), Schultz (21), Hartigan (21), Pattison (20), Raines (20), Thursfield (20), Foley (20). Polo (19), Meyer (19), Tambling (19), Hughes (19), Deledio (19), JON (18)...

Perhaps another 2 seasons away from really making an impact.

Spot on. 2 years away from making an impact, although two 115pt-plus bowlouts is not what I expected.

And by that time the only A Grade player ( aside from Bronwy) will be close to retirement!

We had trade currency with a certain number 32, who again has conned us by playing well aganist bottom sides and going missing aganist a good side and we didn't use it, we desperalty need a CHB with experience! Joel Bowden for all the good his does, is not the right player to be playing on key fowards! Instead we pick up another dud who the Bulldogs where happy to give up! Would P Bowden be in the side if Brown was fit?

Brown may never play half decent footy again.

We do have this good U24 crop comming though the ranks but the down side is when this does happen a good chuck of: Richo, Kellaway, Brown, J Bowden, Johnson & Simmonds will be either gone or towards then end. all 27+

Shouldn't single out players to blame from today's effort. The whole team was shocking, just leave it at that.

By then Deledio, Hughes, Raines, Polo, Hartigan, JON, Tambling will be well on the way to becaming A grade players.

Future looks good to me

I predict we should finish around 10-11th this year, get a few draft picks maybe, then next year we should be knocking on the door for an 8th spot. Year after, should be well inside the 8. If not, Wallace might be on the phone to Frawley for some "oh :D:D:D:D, am i going to lose my job?" counselling, because ive waited too long for the same ol' blown chances.

I see us in a similar situation to Geelong/Saint Kilda 3 seasons ago:

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ladder?year=2003&sby=0

The young crop of players I put above is similar to the cores of: Corey/Ling/Bartel/Enright/Milburn/Chapman/Ablett/Kelly, Hayes/Milne/Baker/Fisher/Kosi/Riewoldt/Clarkes

Perhaps with more modern emphasis on speed and skill.

Heh. Hopefully we will make the most of our young talent then.

However, we have wayyyy better second tier players than St.Kilda, in terms of small backs and midfielders. They have better forwards and Key backs but meh. We should be a lot better than them in 2-3 years.

Ummm, I reckon we'll finish in front of the frawleywits from Pines Park, but that maybe about it.

Suprising how many supporters are suprised by todays result, and how their opinions of the side has changed so suddenly.

I see us as the average team who will finish between 11th - 14th!

We all know we aren't close to the best sides (Sydney/WCE/STK) but we are equal/better than the likes of Carl/Ess/Bris so we should and have beat them and we should beat others like Port, Roos (maybe) and Hawks if they continue to fall

I would love to see us play them when we have backline, it would be a much better game IMO...I fear our next 3 weeks against Adelaide, Geelong and Freo

If we don't play finals before Richo retires it'll be tragic. :(
