Time to put that debacle behind us and look to next week when we take on the Kangaroos at Subiaco on Saturday.
What changes ened to be made?
Ins:
Longmuir/Headland/McManus (if they are fit, can only really use 2)
Murphy (especially if no J'Lo)
Out:
Crowley (inj)
M. Carr (omit)
Walker (maybe give him 1 more week to run with Wells)
The Roos are a very tall side so i think Murphy needs to play and play forward. Send Luke to CHB and let him use his marking ability and running power. If were not going to use Murph than trade him, he is ready to go so give the kid a shot.

Despite what changes are made it will be a DANGER game.

Roos are always a danger game, always think we're going to win easily and that rarely happens.

I reckon if JLo comes back in theres no need for Warren to be in the side

14 May 2006, 16:43
Expect to see Schoefield, Peake, Jlo in.
Cook, Crowley (inj) and probably Mcarr out.
I dont believe we can not play Rabbit again because Jlo's knee will probably have to be nursed until Sandi is back. Warren did ok yesterday and he will be better for it next week.
While it is a danger game in regards to the affects it would have on CC's tenure and the Clubs aspirations in 2006 in general. We will win !
This a different outfit to recent years. Yesterday's game was going to happen. Melbourne are a slick unit and will carve other sides again this year.

If Schofield plays I'll be ****** off! Slowfield and Gilmore shouldn't play this season unless we have a horror run with injury.
Walker's job is to shut down the dangerous small forwards. He couldn't do it yesterday so he shouldn't be in the side. The fact that we are at Subi might save him, but I would prefer to have Peaker or Hayden in the side.

I was lucky enough to be in Melbourne and saw the game at the MCG (WHAT A FANTASTIC statium it is and the telstra dome as well. We need to give subi a major overhaul or build a new 60K stadium)!
Why are the players moving around the ground so much. Defenders playing up forward or thru the midfield most of the game and visa versa, are we trying to confuse the hell out of everyone, cause i sure was. I don't know how the players no where to go to next or who to kick to.
OUT:
M.Carr(not committed enough),Walker(not committed enough),Thorton(not committed enough),Haselby(either carrying injury or not committed enough), Bell(big call i know but he was not committed enough and might do him good and send a message to the other guns who didn't try real hard)
IN:
Hayden,Murphy,McManus (i hate to say it but they need people like him who want to play more than anything else),Peake
Didn't see Pav make much of a second effort if it didn't get first hands to the ball which was disapointing.

Yeah may as well drop Pav while we're at it....Farmer may as well go as well, Black, Johnson, McPharlin, Cookie....
It's about time we dropped these players & go with the likes of Stribling, Juniper, Kreiger, Campbell, Browne & Copping.

what do you think 8 changes? I would expect 5 - 6. Thompson could pose a threat. He may be a job for Johnson or Thornton or even McPharlin as Grover wont have the height to go with him.

I'd like to see Schofield get a game because he has been playing brilliantly at Subi but just can't get a look in.

there has been talk about building on kitchener park [next to subi] and making subi a carpark.
when i was at the telstra dome, called colonial stadium at the time i found it very cold, echoy - perhaps with the roof closed and all that concrete...strange feeling. still, its a great stadium with heaps of leg room and the footpaths between the seating and toilets/bars/food outlets...huge - no crowding. ppl of the west are missing out

Any value in moving magic up forward again but for longer. I heard he did a kick asre job when moved there, or is he to valuable in defense.
Personally I think CC needs to put a flame up McPharlaps arse because he hasn't done much of late.

Longmuir and Headland may not be ready(I dont know why they are being so secretive about Headland)so I think Warren will remain for the time being
Walker or Cook may survive because Crowley has a fracured cheekbone

no way we need MAGIC IN THE BACKLINE GIVING US THE RUN WHEN they have confidencei n themselves running from the backline giving us run Magic is best used there.
OUT: Crowley, Matt Carr, Walker, Cook
IN: McManus, Hayden, Schofield, Peake
Matty Carr has does nothing all year
James Walker doesn't know what to do with the ball when he has it & is very soft
Troy Cook is gawn
Only picking Schofield as I think this is what CC will do....apparently been going all right for Subi, but as soon as Des comes back, he must go. Andrew Browne played very well for Claremont & will be very close to selection but probably needs another game or 2. Haddrill played for Perth on weekend, but had x Weagle Troy Wilson kick 6 on him...so I guess he's a good month away from selection.

I know scary isn't it?? I was thinking yesterday - Headland and Crowley out injured, MCarr needs to be dropped on form as does Walker, Cookie's not setting the world on fire... I'm thinking who do we have to bring in? Peake's not in great form, but he can run, so he may be the go for Subi; Macca if his hammy is better, what about Browne - underdone?; Roger - how's the ankle?... Schofield didn't even enter my consciousness.... but he might be the logical choice if they are rewarding WAFL form as they say they are...

i agree with these selections 99% just might not have peake till he cleans up his disposals, his kicking is just attorcious just wants to boot it into the sky rather that accurately onto the chest of our forwards or even infront of forwards to mark.

Ask him why he hasn't topped up his super prior to his retirement at the end of the year...
Ask him why his tackling is probably the worst in the Fremantle side....
Ask him why he can't kick goals on the run or hit Pavlich on the chest everytime when he did with methodic accuracy whilst he was at Port Adelaide....
Ask him if he does actually get a game this week, does he know it will be his last should he play a shocker....(don't want to put any pressure on him or anything!)
Tell him his new nickname in the outer at the moment is Slowfield...

That was a very good summary by Imperial Purple in my opinion.
I was at game Saturday and it scared me how bad Walker and Parker were.
If Crowley was an angry man before this cheap shot, i look forward to the next Melbourne game. Actually, on that point does it not concern anyone the lack of retribution sought on Pickett. I know he's built like Worsfold with a beer gut but surely someone had have a dip.

Great review of the situation ip.mc pharlin and walker are playing out of there natural positions so its a bit tough on them imo.m carr will stay due to injuries.parkers costing us goals now but id leave him in.warren didnt look to bad so he should stay if longie doesnt come up.medhursts only problem his is decision making he gets it them runs around to move it on quickly(good)and then chooses the wrong target.

Adam Campbell should be a fringe player at the moment, playing some good footy at CHF & occasionally rucking at West Perth...I like him better than Warren. Better mark, better kick...probably doesn't read the play better than Warren. Hopefully gets a crack at FF by end of year...

Longmuir in the mix
18 May 2006
Mark White
fremantlefc.com.au
Fremantle ruckman Justin Longmuir completed Wednesday’s main train session and is a strong chance to return to Fremantle’s line-up after three weeks on the sidelines. Longmuir is one of a number of players being considered for selection when Fremantle take on the Kangaroos at Subiaco Oval on Saturday.
“We’ll go in with no risk, he’s got to be able to play flat out,” said Senior Coach Chris Connolly.
Fremantle’s match committee will also need to find replacements for the injured Ryan Crowley (cheekbone) and Des Headland (thumb).
“Jarrad Schofiled has been in good form, Brett Peake was unlucky to miss out last weekend and there are other running type players are in the mix,” Connolly said.
Fremantle has been able to call on its increased depth this season and have a number of players in good form in the WAFL. Another positive is the flexibility within the playing group to mix up the structure of the team to create a new playing environment.
“When you’re tested you try things to see if you can extend what you’ve got and I think Michael Johnson going forward showed a bit so you always look at it in a positive sense,” said Connolly.
The Kangaroos intend to throw everything they have at Fremantle this week in an attempt to get their season back on track and will arrive a day earlier than usual into Perth and train at Subiaco on Friday afternoon.
Connolly said his side wouldn’t be caught on the hop and he has been delighted with the player’s commitment on the training track and their focus on the challenge ahead after the disappointment of last weekend’s performance.
“Every club puts everything they can into each week and we’re certainly really desperate to get our hands on these four points,” Connolly said.
“It’s on our home ground and we’re a much improved team. We’ve missed the finals by two and four points in the past two years and we’ve been toughened up mentally from that point of view,” he added.
Macca has at least another week on the sidelines, while Schofield looks a probability....

Played half a game in the reserves and got though it okay.
Thats about it but it is a start.
Mind you Brownie didn't hasn't set the world of fire yet and he is about 3 weeks ahead of Dunn-nutthin.
On a lighter note , I saw Des on Ch eagle and he was quite upbeat about still being able to run so He is "going to have another preseason" and will be able to maintain fitness.
I assume 211 & Crowls will be the same , so it is not as bad as it could be.
