View Full Version : Our best back 6
Who are our current best back 6?
When looking at that, forget the fact that you may want Chad or Shaun in the midfield. Just looking at our best 6 currently, who would you have?
IMO it is hard to find 6. Wilson is not in it, but who to replace him? Surjan perhaps?
Surjan Wakelin S.Burgoyne
Chaplin C.Cornes Walsh
I would agree with that. Surjan booked himself a spot in the side for the rest of the year (well, at least in Logical Selection Anti-Bizarro World).

This will never happen, but it is pretty damn close to our best back 6, with WIlson being the player starting on the bench - also I would swap Walsh and Burgoyne

That may or may not be our best back six, however I think it's time Junior Burger got a permanent spot in the midfield. Nick Lower should get a go in the back pocket.

You are jumping the gun Toots.
I am planning to do a similar thread on our midfield and our forward line once we have settled on the backline, and undoubtedly some players will show up more than once.
We will then have our best team with gaps because of this, and then look at who would be the best "fill" for these gaps so to speak.
So now let's look at our best backline, followed by the forward line, then midfield 6 then the gaps and bench.
IMO it will be an interesting exercise.

Exactly - I cannot fathom how SB is stuck deep in defence for so fukn long and yet when he goes into the middle he does so very well... its just bemusing...
What happened to Pettigrew playing HBF? He just seems to float around the ground now.

Matt Thomas?
Maybe, but I do like Lower.

Ah. Right got ya now, didn't read your post properly.
Chaplin, Wakelin, Wilbur,
C Cornes, Tredrea, Junior,
FB : Symes Wakelin Walsh
HB : Chaplin C. Cornes S. Burgoyne
However I'd rather fix the midfield first. My best back 6 after midfield taken care of is :
FB : Surjan Wakelin Walsh
HB : Willits Chaplin Symes
Very inexperienced, but we need Chad and junior in the centre to give our backs any chance.
Time for a bit of a vote.
FB : (???) Wakelin Walsh
HB : Chaplin C. Cornes S. Burgoyne
Choices are, Wilson, Symes and Surjan.
No need to vote if you don't want to Toots. ;)

Symes to fill the empty back pocket.
Whats this fait accompli malarkey for the rest of the back line? You said you wanted our best back 6. Are you telling me Tredrea wouldn't make a superb defender?
