If any one knows who the idiot is who was holding up this banner at Sundays game could you please tell him to go support the Crows instead as he will fit in better with the two faced idiots who suport them.
It is amazing how people forget so fast what choco has done for this team like the 4 or 5 years at he top of the ladder and the flag now all of a sudden we go through a rough patch and these so called suporters jump straight onto chocos back. give him a break the club is re-building after a very good 5 year period and i think choco is doing a great jobe - give them a year or 2 and i think we will have some vry exciting times ahead.
I think people are getting a bit too worked up over this issue.

Quiet night at work ? :)
I must admit that I did giggle a bit... but seriously, that kind of thing should not go on display in public. This is a time for the club to show unity (albeit superficially).
And yes, I know we bitch and moan in a public forum right here, but this is more... stress relief.
I saw the thread title and my first thought was ''Cornes For Columbia'' from 94.
Meh, like the West Coast guy last night people pay there money and can say and do what they want ( to a certain extent)

Reality check to Aisle 3, please.
It's probably one of those clowns who go to the game with their crows jumpers on underneath then come on here and brag about it.
Or its Eddie Woloschek. Or Santos.

I'd like to see the game plan of the last couple of weeks sent to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention.

Any chance of you taking this to the main board?

Freedom of speech is an integral part of a democratic society, though I understand that the PAFC is a dictatorship these days.

Well isnt your reply a troll?
BF has rules about respecting a club board now if what I quoted was on the main board the poster would have more chance to realise how irrational to say the least his statement was.

Isn't Baghdad chaotic and disorganised enough without Choco going there to lend a hand? He'd probably bring back Saddam then try and run a rotation policy with other failed leaders ... :p

Not funny at all. How many games (and flags) has that fair dinkum idiot coached. He should get himself a Clowns membership as he thinks like one.

nothing like sitting back watching a mediocre club implode. Keep up the good work lads.:thumbsu:
I don't know what your problem is. You will be able to tell your grand kids that you were there to witness one of the best ever Port Power sides, 2001-2004. Just change the subject when they ask how many premierships did they win.

We may be a mediocre side at the moment but at least we are a real football club.

Its ok. Look at the Crows fortunes over the past two and a bit seasons. They had a crap coach with under performing youngsters with minimal confidence and played accordingly. Now they are going alright. Doesnt take long to turn things around.

Those M&M guernseys look alright don't they?:thumbsu:
So let me get this straight. We can have Kick A Vic banners etc but anything negative towards the team is a no-no?
People can express themselves in any way they wish. Either through phoning the media or using an internet forum or holding a banner up
Doesnt make them any less of a prawn or any less right or wrong. Its an opinion they hold . The worst kind of supporters are those who dont question the direction of a club.
Imagine being happy about struggling

I guess people can put most things on a banner. But why go to a game just to heap rubbish on choco? seems a pretty screwed up reason to go to the footy to me.

Right mate, someone like that would fit in with us chardonnay drinkers now would they? The coach doesnt play the game, the players do.There is no way that Choco would have told them to play like they did in the first qtr and a half. The players weren't accountable. Its proven that Choco can coach a team...2001-2004...that can win games easily. You dont just lose that skill overnight.
All credit must go to some of the crowd though, I didnt think many people would stay when the margin got out to 69 halfway through the second qtr, and then on a couple of occassions during the second half there was even chants when ya's were 10 goals down (only after a goal though..). :thumbsu:
And just another thing, whoever the clowns were at the northern end that came up with thee whole donkey eey-orr thing whenever an opposition player shanks a kick at goal (or anywhere), are just stupid. I mean, don't donkeys have pretty good kicks? I know I wouldnt want to be in the way of one...:)

No, it doesn't - with a coach who knows how to develop a player and boost his confidence.
On that count - we're stuffed.
[QUOTE]How many games (and flags) has that fair dinkum idiot coached.
Good point Scotchmonster but with all due respect, I would say the answer to that question is the same as how many young players Choco has developed - sweet Fanny Adams.

Oh yeah like that really matters, what has being a "real football club" given you over the Crows ???
Less supporters and less success in comparision (2 flags to 1). I am not having a dig but just speaking the truth. Its all just hype that doesnt mean much in reality.

Good on the bloke for putting the sign up, its the only real avenue left to pressure the board. According to Rucc, we are currently in talks to extend Choco's contract!

Yep, read that too. I can't understand why Port would want to extend Choco's contract at this stage. It just doesn't make any sense.
Surely those negotiations would be more appropriate next season, when Choco's current contract expires.
Perhaps Choco's management are pushing for a new contract now, rather than the board actively seeking to extend it.
Rooch always has been/always will be very much on Choco's side, so you have to take some of the things he writes about him with a grain of salt.

I remember when I used to laugh at clubs that pre-emptively signed dud coaches to extensions, like Laidley and Connolly. Now I just worry that we are one of those clubs.

Even scarier was the comment that the assistant coaches contracts are linked to Choco's. So does that mean the entire Monty Python team will be retained?

This would be a standard management ploy . They can hear the drumbeats as well and are looking to identify whether the club is interested or if they have had enough of Williams and will need to find secure employment for Williams.
I hope the PAFC resist any signings until at least 2007

Even scarier was the comment that the assistant coaches contracts are linked to Choco's. So does that mean the entire Monty Python team will be retained?I think that's standard practice, and a one-way thing - if the senior coach goes, all positions are up for grabs (as you would expect, to give a new coach a choice). That's the point made in the article - that it wouldn't be just Choco going, but several and more $.
It doesn't mean the assistants get to stay as long as Choco does. (Although it might if Choco doesn't have the nerve to turn over his team)

Not sure if its got a run on here but another interesting point was raised by Jordan McMahon from the bulldogs on foxfooty last night.
Says the port fans turn very bad and quickly against their players with abuse.
Suggestion that get off to a good start at AAMI and the crowd is obviously not a factor and more than that actually starts working for the opposition.

I agree, I think it was meant in jest. He obviously wants Chocko fired, he pays his money and attends the game and is entitled to his opinion. Yes it was in poor taste, but KG and Cornes saying he should be banned from attending the football is just crazy.
As for Rucci's article, he is in love with Chocko so I think Rucci will pull out all the stops to pump up his tires to remain there. There is no way that Port will extend chocko's contract at this point in time. Given Port's form I would assume that all contract talks would be being halted until either Port shows some really good promising form or gets left until the end of next season. Port Adelaide couldnt possibly extend Chocko's contract as this moment.
I personally think that Chocko is past his expiry date, but I could be totally wrong.

That'd apply to all teams playing like crap. I remember going to a Port v. Bulldogs match at Telstra Dome in 01 or 02. I was seated about 15 metres from the bullies cheersquad. By the second quarter I gave up abusing their players as their own fans were doing it more then I could.

Well I stopped everything when Mcmahon started talking as I did not agree with him singling you guys out for that.Us rival supporters have every right but not players IMO.
My mind goes back to the flak Griffen got about Richmond giving up and IMO Mcmahons was worse.
