Watching the game yesterday i went to a strange quite place in my head where i no longer worried about the score and how bad things were going.Instead,i did what St Kilda and Footscray supporters have been doing for 40 years.Looking towards next season.Watching every kick and every run with the ball that our young players did.Looking for that good disposal or mark were you think "mmm... he is gunna be good".
Monfries,Lovett,His Cousin,Dyson,Watson, Stanton. They are all good young players that any club would love to have,And hows Dempsey's first game? he had a go and nearly kicked a goal with his first kick.He looked like he belonged out there. But what we need the most is a big reliable c/half back next year. Its never been the same down back since Wellman left.Let Mcphee run wild.Fair dimkem this bloke could be a star as a 6'3 wing man who is aloud to go anywhere allday.Laycock should be primed to be a big making forward and all Kepler needs to do is put on a few more kg's and turn up the angry metre to 10 instead of 7.Trade McV,soloman,mj,jj and mark bolton and get a 24y old gun from another club and get lloydy back to his best next year. The future is here and now fellow Dons.Right in front of our eyes.So sit back and relax,it had to happen sooner or later.I'm looking forward to reading about this years top 10 draft picks ,because it looks like we might get 1 or 2 new bombers from it for once!

It is interesting until this week I still held slim hopes that we may somehow make the 8. While I dont think well win the wooden spoon this year is all about development. As for trading the players you mention.. well we had our chance to trade Mr solomon a few years back to the Tigers and we fought hard to keep him. Richmond must be very relieved watching him go around this year. As for the other boys M.Jhonson will no doubt regain his form. I dont think wed actually get much at the trade table or attract much interest in players like Bolton, solomon or J.Jhonson. We need to perservere with them we cant really afford to drop all of them with our obvious lack of depth at the moment. As for the younger guys very happy with the way Watson, Monfries have come on. Even Winderlich a guy who I havent really rated seems to be slowly coming good. Hoped for a bit more from stants this year. I think his form late last year was better than this years form. He trys hard but still lacks decision making skills. If these can improve then he has the potential to become an a class midfielder.

I agree with most of what you said, but I wouldn't trade McVeigh or MJ. McVeigh has probably beaten every opponent he's played on this year. He's one player on our list that can consistently shut down the opposition's small forward. MJ needs to find his 2005 form, he was fantastic last season and if he could get back to that form he'll be one of our most important players again.

Trade McV,soloman,mj,jj and mark bolton and get a 24y old gun from another club and get lloydy back to his best next year.
If we don't want them, what makes you think another club will trade for them.

At best, we might get a 2nd round pick for either MJ or McVeigh.
No club will want Solly or Bolton and Im pretty sure JJ is contracted next season.

No more priority picks in the first round. The best we can hope for is one pick in the top 10 and three in the top 20.

living in fantasy world, this list is pathetic, its so pathetic its comical i was laughing at so many simple skill errors, i dont care who u are or how experienced u are but how do we miss so many targets by hand when they are 4-5 metres away, garbage.

I can see the younger players imroving im a big wrap for watson but geez his kicking is disguntingly awful when kicking for goal, and the time he gets the ball from hand to foot is slow. Bradley i have not seen him take a contested mark yet, welsh missed a traget nearly every time he had the ball, NLM has me miffed i cant understand how he gets the ball so many times thats a positive the negatives are his decsion making, his chippy crap handballs to no one when he tries to break a tackle and his allowance for oppositon players to brush past him with ease, he was played as a spare man in defence and so many time was within diving distance of putting his hand in front of fevola, gee whiz get some heart.

I dont think we have enough young exciting players, maybe its just me but even the supporters dont get the buzz they use to like when lloyd, lucas, long wanganeen first started.

dempsey looks exciting and will give much added spark in tandem with lovett, but our key forwrads just dont present themselves, there pretty dull and ordinary, lucas is playing a position that is not suited to him, he is better floating across half forward rather then going man on man.

McVeigh has had a pretty good year, I think. Underrated player.

Definately agree. If he held Judd to 15 possessions some of our supporters would still complain that he only got 10 himself. Has been doing a great job for us the last few seasons.

Yep. Big fan of Mark McVeigh's work.

Would have made a big difference yesterday.
