Hi,
Curious whats the Mackay league like ? Any good players

I don't actually live in Mackay. I am about a 15 minute drive from Sarina (small country town) in a place called Freshwater Point and about 45 minute drive from Mackay, so I don't go there very often. St Kildonan recently informed me that there was a Sarina team, but I did not know of it's existance.
While the popularity of AFL is growing, it is still very much a Rugby League area, especially in Sarina. I have only lived here for 2 years, but as a NQ representative I will endeavour to find out more. The reason I put Mackay as my location is because I didn't think people would know Sarina. It's big enough to be on the map though.
If you want to find out about more, I suggest you talk to St Kildonan, who lives in Mackay. He's a bright chap and nice to talk to and has a couple of kids who play in the local competition in Mackay. I will see if I can get him to post a response to your question.

The Mackay AFL is surprisingly well coached, the standard is much better than I anticipated, however they are probably not the quality of the EPL or country leagues of Vic.
I was "scouting" for potential stars last year, there was a mature aged player who was good and a U17 player (who played U17 and Seniors each week as well as umpiring juniors) who probably was too small for AFL but just possibly of that quality (though lack the kicking skills). He has since gone to Townsville (Uni) and I have lost track of him.
