View Full Version : Aka in the 25 against Port
Chasing the Dream

Aka, Leppa, Merrett, Adcock and Corrie have all been included in this weeks team.
Personally, I'd say that Adcock and Aka are most likely to be in for the injured J Mac and Copeland. Corrie has been doing nothing special, Leppa hardly got through the Ressies last week and Merrett is close, but they have had him at CHB for the past few weeks, and he is still learning.
The reports on Corrie have been generally impressive of late. Most say he's been running himself ragged and putting in the 1%ers.
Unusual to elevate Party Marty and not pick him first up.
I'm not in favour of it, but Leppa's been picked on the ground so he'll play.
Unusual to elevate Pask and not include him in the side.
If Merrett survives the cut and gets a spot in the 22 may well end up on Tredrea at some stage. It's time to trail him at FB after a month playing the spot with the Sunny Lions.
IMO it's a good move.

Does where they get named mean anything?
Eg. Leppa is pencilled in at CHB, whereas Akermanis is on the bench.
Presuming there were no injuries would the Lions drop any three players, or would they only drop 3 players from the bench.
That is hard picking the last four isn't it?
Don't know who to choose, Fixter would be unlucky, so would Clark oh god I would hate to be a selector. thats a pretty good interchange!we will miss Robbie though ,he is so tough.

Usually players are dropped from the extended bench not the ground.
The fact that Leppa is named on the ground is a fair indication that he will play imo.
pask got suspended from last week in the local league ! - bugger
merrit wont play

Leigh Matthews just said on 10 sports, that Aka didn't play well last week.So you would think he won't be included.

Good one:thumbsu:
I wonder why they made Platfull an emergency instead of Merrett?
It's a shame Clark isn't playing. He's been very impressive so far and it's been great to watch. Hope he's back next week.

As per Lions.com "Daniel Merrett, originally named in the 25, has dropped out because of hamstring tightness experienced at training tonight and has been replaced on the emergency list by Joel Patfull".

I so badly want to see Hadley and Lappins name on that list, if they were in, I'd be feeling pretty confident about this next game.
I'm feeling a bit nervy about this next game actually, dont really know what to expect. Drama of the highest order.

I would have felt a lot happier had it not been for the fact that Port got humiliated by the Bullies last week.
As it is, you can bet that they will be fired up for this game....support the coach, show their fans they are not a spent force, restore some pride ....etc.
Much the same motivation our guys would have used for the Hawks game.
The key will be to start well and knock their confidence.....and hopefully get their fans cranky with them.
If they get away to a flyer, the home crowd will fire them up and it could be a long afternoon for us.

Has Leigh Matthews gone soft? What's Acker doing back in the side this week? He hasn't served his penance from where I sit! Should have been left out this week and brought back next week. :)

:) Bummer hey. In all serious, I think a few people in the media have been embarrassed by this, things didn't turn into the fiasco that they had hoped. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Not according to Bill.
Any idea who has come in for Leppa?
I guess all 3 emergencies would have travelled, seeing as though no Suncoast game.

My guess would be Clark, but I dunno.
