Their latest win against West Indies has increased their world-record for most wins on the trot chasing a target to an amazing 17.

Should be a far more formidable one-day opponent next time we come up against them, I think the chokers tag they had under Ganguly has been swept away by Dravid.

Pretty formidable line-up now, only real weak links are Sehwag, who still can kill you on his day, and Kaif if he doesn't find his form. Dhoni is a star, potential to be better than Gilchrist.

Interesting times...

If any team is going to set a new record, it's them because they play enough one day games, seemingly more than anyone else. But when was the last time they played and beat us? And they only drew 2-2 with the Saffies on home soil. Us and the Saffs are #1 and 2 ranked in the world.

Potentially they are the best.

Obviously performance wise, Australia still has the runs on the board so to speak to be a comfortable number one.

There are question marks on this team though.

1. The bowling, in general

2. Form away from home

This series is big for them.

It's a great oppurtunity to get games under there belt in the country that's hosting next years World Cup.

For f***s sake stop the crap that we play heaps more than anyone else. OK, India do play more ODI's, but according to the new ICC fixtures they play only 5 more than Australia I believe ...

Fair enough but if you play a lot of games in succession and don't play the world champs you do have more hope than any other team in breaking the wins in succession record. And the new ICC fixtures represent the future, not the past.

the new ICC FTP only represents what each country must play.

there is nothing surer than the indian cricket board organising mickey mouse one day tournaments in sharjah, canada and against other opponents as additional games.

but india do look the goods moving on without ganguly and laxman. it helps being able to play the likes of dhoni and pathan anywhere in the order too.
playing away from home is their biggest hurdle though.

Do they only get to choose the games that they want when they chase records?

What part of 'while chasing a target' do you not understand?
