Wait until the Pies beat a side with a winning record before getting chirpy.

Your wins have all come against teams who are 4-4 or worse.
The hawks were 1-0 when we won.
So i guess that makes your argument redundant.

They have a better chance of topping the ladder than winning a flag. They are a good side on the right track but come finals will be given a searching by the likes of WCE or the Swans and will probably lose. Otherwise if richmond or the Pups or someone gets there the fearful wobbles may well set in and the usual blow up might happen.

I'd rather have a tenner on them topping the ladder then winning the GF which they simply don't deep down believe they can do.

I was BIG time wrong on the Pies this year. I had them for the spoon mainly because I felt their key guys could not stay healthy.

They have played extremely well this year. I understand the competition they have played. To be fair, they are playing what's in front of them. That said, with the Dogs, Dees, Saints and Swans coming up on their schedule, we'll see what they are really made of. I'm not saying whether or not they are for real. Just taking a wait-and-see approach.

Fresh out of toilet paper.

A practical suggestion. Haven't checked today's edition, but suspect you'll have a good months supply. :)

Pies are the real deal as they have a good forward line and good back line. If their midfield can continue to fire then watch out.

Key is getting Rocca through the season. His importance too the Pies cannot be understated.

Imagine if he stayed in Sydney and he was playing alongside Hall and Co.?

Pies are the real deal. They will march all the way to the premiership and so will West Coast.

No comment untill they play a current top 4 team.

I don't really care. It will just make laughing at them even more special. I might give them a chance if they beat the swans or the crows or the eagles. At the moment they 0-2 against the best sides in the comp.

If by round 22 they are sitting on 1,2,3 then i might seeing them as a chance. But for now i will let you collingwood fans savour what is the beauty of being mid season champs!

Hmmm we are currently on top so we can't play ourselves. Adelaide and West Coast are next and we have already played them and lost. I guess that just leaves Sydney which is coming up in a few weeks.

Still don't get it, we aren't just beating the mediocre sides bu thumping them and still can't get any respect. But then again these comments still tend to come from supporters of all the struggling clubs this year particularly the ones we have beaten.

We play probably the best style of footy in the league at the moment and that shows by our for and aganist figures. At least we don't resort to flooding, chipping crappy tactics to try and win games. Great coach that Terry (?), sensational coach that Mick. I know what footy I prefer to watch even when we have lost ie - West Coast.

Dude we (swans) thumped richmond by 118 points last week, we are currently at 4 in a row. You don't see the rest of us swannies carrying on about how we must be respected etc.

Beat a real side, do something in september and then you gain respect. You fwits are demanding the rest of us give you respect when respect is earned the hard way in footy and not by being first going into round 9. Yeah you guys are playing good footy but make it last all year.

Stop getting ahead of yourself, no wonder you guys hurt so much when you fall. How many of you knobs have already started planning for the grand final? Do you ever learn your lesson in how to ge a humble supporter? I guess not when most of you have the avg iq of 45!

Gee, the worst list in the comp some of you opposition supporters were saying.

I had the same discussion with AFL fans at work at the start of this season.

With a full injury-free list, the Pies could return to the finals.

I know still only early in the season, but i'm starting to wonder where my team is actually heading this season.

If the team continues to play like this, Top 4 is certainly not out of the question.
You still havent beaten a really good side. Just lost to WCE: very tough task, but people saying NOW they are contenders is crap. The Cats are travelling almost as poorly as anyone right at the moment.
Having said that 6 from 8 is 6 from 8 in anyone's book, all you can do is beat the team you play.
All I'm saying is when they BEAT a top 4 team ill be closer to convinced, but they certainly are in flying form nonetheless.
Even when/if they are the real deal, doesnt mean i'll 'accept' it :)

yes but all you can do is rate teams on their to-date performances.
On that Basis they're clearly (in no order) WCE, Coll, Adel and Sydney (Doggies close too).

my standard rule is to make predictions after Rd 10, two weeks away. At this stage I'm saying Collingwood will finish 10th because we are clearly better than 6 other teams

They were coming off a win against the saints. Geelong and St.kilda were touted as being the best 2 victorian sides. Both were up there as flag favourites at the start of the season, both preliminary finalists from last season.

why is it that after we beat a side they're "travelling poorly". If we beat West coast last week probably wouldve heard the same thing "they're going through a form slump as they've now lost two in a row"
