I know there are many people who see this as an unecessary blight on the game, not only is it tacky but also potentially unhealthy.

I was under the impression that the AFL frowned upon it, so I was more than suprised to see Umpire Scott Mclaren having a spit during the telecast of the sydney-bulldogs match at the SCG. Very dissapointing to see.

How can the players be expected not to when the umpires are doing it ??

What on earth are you banging on about?? Who gives a toss?

Have you never felt like hocking one out after running all day?

What a stupid thread.

Spitting at ANYONE is DISGRACEFUL. If McLaren did spit at a player, then there should be a suspension.

It is laughable that you suggest an umpire would spit at a player.

CharlieG is right, put Fox Footy Active on and every minute you hear spitting
