Sam Gilbert (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4264769&postcount=15) debuts against Carlton whilst Leigh Fisher (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5121355&postcount=9) resumes his career after missing all of last year.

Good luck to both, and the rest of the Saints against the Blues.

Leigh Fisher very good.

Gilbert was okay.

Both were good.

Leigh Fisher seemed to step back on the big stage as if he had never been away. 15 disposals 8 marks and a tackle is a nice result fist up.

Sam Gilbert got less game time than I hoped he would, but he showed good composure for a debutante. 2 kicks, 2 handpasses and a mark is not the whole story, he gained possessions in some very tight situations and I was impressed how cool he was with the ball.

I think it was the perfect game for both a debut and a comeback. Blowup game against the probable wooden spoon of the year and non-pressure situations are the perfect atmosphere for a debut in the AFL (and for that measure in any professional sporting event) and also a comeback after a long injury. But I bet noone is going to say GT and selectors did well there, hehe.
